Jets are very good, especially when they have Hellebuyck in net. That could have been like 5-2 Avs if not for some insanity and frankly luck from their goalie. It took 2 crazy plays from 2 of the best players in the league to get the puck past him. Blackwood is awesome but Hellebuyck is on another level right now. Not sure if the Avs have enough to get past that team right now. Maybe if Val and maybe Landy come back.
Start with PP2 Colton, Lehkonen, Drouin, Makar and Girard,,, tell them pass pass shoot and crowd the net, but that needs to be a Bednar call
Another loss at home LOL These guys have no pride, even Chicago and the Habs beat them recently. They're talented and spectucular but where's the grit, the garbage goals? No, they need to figure skate

I was about the process during the first few weeks of him "slumping". But this is completely unacceptable. You're going on 3 plus months of your second line center who takes up nearly 6 million in cap. Giving you production that would be barely passable for a good 3C. Obviously this isn't a Ryjo type situation. But he's more & more not looking like the long term solution. They aren't in a position to just wait around for him to hopefully figure it out.

To be fair winnipeg was playing without lowry so they weren’t as dominant as they were the last game, but they still were able to hang in there
avs will be fine. they are able to step it up during playoffs, while jets not so much (yet?), from a wpg jets fan.
There are a few take aways from this team. PP is atrocious, Faceoffs , they are 31st, which is horrible. It is like spoting someone. Last, but not least, their puck possession time is horrible. Which is mainly due to poor face off performance. This team, when they have the puck, need to truly realize It is precious because they have to then perform a miracle to get It back.
Which brings me to OT. I don't blake Mac l, even though that was a pathetic performance on D. However, why people pretend what happened before that play doesn't matter? What happened basically was a piss poor , dumb pass that was disregarding the fact that they must value and protect the puck. Instead, makar tries an idiotic pass which gets intercepted. They just don't have a presence of mind that they suck and they can't steal the puck easily from the opposition. Until they realize that, they will end up in these situation where they have to defend more possessions than they would have to

You guys are dead on with your comments.Avs played a very good game,& in a vacuum-I have no issues with last night. Both teams played pretty good-Avs certainly didn't dominate. But I don't think there's any doubt they were slightly the better team.As you said-ive almost totally given up on realistically catching WPG-so them getting 2 pts isnt a huge deal. Still not impossible but like the Nuggets-2nd or 3rd is far more realistic. So not showing up vs a depleted Minny team-who you could have passed,or not holding 3-0 lead vs Edmonton-those were much more concerning,& harmful. Even had they managed to get to OT vs Edmonton-id say it was a pretty good homestand overall. But instead its just so/so. Even the process vs NYR was bad…though the result was good.
But getting a tie,in a game where you probably deserved to beat the team with the best record in the west-i cant be too upset. That was the definition of a good loss in hockey. Yes the OT goal was a terrible play by Mac,& Blackwood shouldve had it. But they were kinda due to lose a game in OT anyways. We had 1 shootout loss but none in OT. Im actually very happy with the Avs last night except the PP is beyond ridiculous at this point. They badly miss Nuke there but still have 3 HOFers out there-but are just awful. Avs PP is arguably the most underachieving unit in all of pro sports right now,& youd think Ray Bennet would have to be somewhat accountable for that. Obviously its not mostly his fault but he is in charge of it.
