When it comes to face offs Torts has admitted he is not an analytics coach. He gets a report from one of the staff but this may be playing a role in why the numbers are what they are. Great show folks enjoy it a lot, very informative.
Enjoyed the discussion today, thanks Rachel and Russ. How about a specialist for face offs? Could be good with the specialist for shooting, lol. If no specialists at least have the best players teaching the other players. Use Crosby as an example. He started off poorly at faceoffs, but he practiced at it and became good. I would have thought that would be high on the off season list of things to work on. But, communication outside of benching players is bad. Tablets back on the bench anyone? But, hey it's Torts' team.
