We are loyal but we are not stupid. I don't have a problem with Barzal being upset but record low temps, inauguration day, National Championship game plus poor play equals less butts in the seats.
I would be more interested in watching the future rather than the past. This is a ‘look in the mirror’ moment.
The parking. The Belmont Garage is where the regular guy wants to park. I need to go on stub hub and pay 70 bucks to park there. The Emerald Lot is a disaster. I may as well walk from Floral Park. The train is a joke. A mile away. And long wait after game. Plus concession prices high and very poor quality compared to MSG. Citifield etc. Add to that a boring team.

Yesterday, the Islanders had an event for season ticket holders. Rumor has it that the Capitals are interested in Brock Nelson, but it's just a rumor. Dobson's injury gives Dennis Chulowski a chance to prove himself. Barzy said to a teammate that UBS Arena is empty. IF HE SAID WHAT HE SID TO POKE THE 🐻, LET'S HOPE IT WORKS. HAPPY 🎂, MIKE BOSSY 1957-2022. It's been nearly 3 years since he passed away, and he's still missed. Drafted 15th in the 1st round in 1977, the rap against him was he couldn't play defense, THEY WERE WRONG. Al Arbour put him with Trots, a very smart move putting those 2 kids together for the next 10 years. It was like they were Butch Cassidy (Trots) the slick crafty one, and The Sundance Kid (Boss) because he was the sniper. He joined the 50 50 club in 1981. He could've broken the record, but he passed it to Trots who scored a goal very unselfish move his way of saying Thank you. It put me in mind of Boss scoring the goal in mid air in the Finals against Vancouver in 1982. When he shot the puck, the goalie had no idea where it was, until he looked behind him. The goalies were deathly afraid of the Islanders because of Mike Bossy. He was a Calder Cup 🏆, a Lady Byng 🏆 2 or 3 times, a Conn Smythe 🏆. Gil as usual you are spot on about the problems concerning the Arena, and the mess Lou has gotten us into with bad contracts. Nelson has to be traded at the deadline we cannot afford to lose him for nothing. Fans should not be angry at Barzy, they should be mad at Lou. LGI

Totally agree with you Gil. Costs of all at UBS are a huge factor, poor parking situations and ofcourse they need to keep winning to get more in the seats. Also, for those living in Suffolk, Elmont ain't close at all. Heck for those in Levittown it's still a journey with rush hour traffic. It's unfortunate because UBS is a really beautiful arena. Miss the ole barn days!

Hi Gil! I love Barzie but ya know what’s “Empty”? The doggone NET! We can’t score, we don’t hit, we don’t protect players, we play scared and we’re slow. At least with Trotz we were boring but we won our share. This is not an exciting team. Let’s see—crazy prices, crazy parking, crazy walk, and and a goal maybe 2 per game? Kidding me? Sorry but I miss the Coliseum and the pure excitement tailgating, while grilling, eating and drinking your beverage of choice. Yes we have a new arena and practice facility but they gave us twice as many bars (40) to gouge us—yes it’s business and they have to make their money back but instead of tailgating, we pay the piper. Looking back, I feel we got scammed, it’s how I feel. However, give us a team we can be “Proud of again” and we will show up because the NHL underestimates our fierce loyalty to our past. Gil, this has been an abysmal season. This and next year is time to say goodbye to the older core. Caps want Brock? Ok then overpay! We’re not doing those guys any favors! For the record, Dobson received a very nasty cross check to the chest—-we’ve been pushed around and run at all year. Hope the lesson has been learned. Don’t go into another season without muscle and sandpaper. It’s how you win playoff series. Take care Gil!
