Kyle Connor, who will represent the United States in the 4 Nations Face-Off, scored three goals in the first period for his sixth career hat trick and surpassed Nikolaj Ehlers for the fourth most in Jets/Thrashers history.
KC recorded his first career natural hat trick just 13:37 into the contest. The only faster instance to begin a game in franchise history is Sean Monahan on Feb. 19, 2024 (11:24), which also marked the last natural hat trick by any Jets player.
With an assist later in the game, he recorded his ninth career four-point game and tied Vyacheslav Kozlov for the fourth most in franchise history. He trails Ilya Kovalchuk (20), Blake Wheeler (13) and Mark Scheifele (12).
