Is Hellebuyck the best American-Born goalie in NHL history? | OverDrive Hour 3 | 01/15/25

Bryan Hayes, Jeff O’Neill and Jamie McLennan discuss the report that the New York Mets checked in on the availability of Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and why a report like that would be leaked. They are joined by TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger to discuss the challenges of wearing full body long johns, is Kyle Connor a superstar in the NHL, whether or not Connor Hellebuyck is or could ever be the best American-Born goaltender in NHL history, the Maple Leafs struggles and potential return of Jake McCabe, John Kilingberg’s comeback, Jeff Skinner being a healthy scratch and more. They are also joined by Westwood One NFL analyst and co-host of the GoJo and Golic podcast Mike Golic Sr. to discuss the future of College Football with all the money involved, will Bill Belichick work out in North Carolina, who does he have more faith in to perform better: Josh Allen or Lamar Jackson, how to contain a big running back like derrick henry, could the Rams upset the Eagles and how far can they go, who’s more vulnerable this weekend: the Chiefs or Lions and can Notre Dame beat Ohio State in the National Championship.

  1. Love Helly, but Quick and Richter own that title until he does it in the playoffs. Statisticslly, Helly will probably go down as the best American-born goalie.

  2. We need to apply the same standard to Hellybuck as we do to the leafs. Hes a good goalie, but until he has playoff success, that’s all he is.

  3. Mike Richter showed up in the big games. Helly may have the regular season hardware, but he needs to prove he can do it when it matters.
