Red Wings escape with a point in 3rd straight loss, as offensive drought continues in Philadelphia

The Detroit Red Wings offense continues to struggle, as they score just one goal in their 3rd straight game, losing their 3rd in a row as well. Alex Lyon was the reason they were able to eek out a point. Elmer Soderblom was recalled and played great! #LGRW

  1. Not a good game. Too irresponsible with the puck. Too many turnovers. Too many dangerous passes. Lyon really bailed the team out a lot. Some positives to take away, though, the kids look great! Johansson looks stellar playing with ed. Soderblom looked really good tonight, as did the 4th line as a whole. The 3rd line has really been a black hole on this team, unfortunately. It’s just not working

  2. Soderblom looked fine. Idk why he isn’t with the club. Lyon was solid, another famous terrible back check by Kane, and we need to get Seider help

  3. Dump Chiarot and Tarasenko and Compher and Kane. It was a good streak. Tank now and hope some good free agents want to sign.

  4. Their lack of depth at center and defence really gets exposed in OT. I would be willing to have Kasper take some draws when Larkin is on the bench. The more they play Copp and Compher the more it shows that they are who they are. Their trade value is never going to improve. It would be so great if they could move one and find a true 2 C.

  5. It's to the point where they should strip that joke of Kronwall's number if he dosn't start throwing fuggin' Atomic Hits, Its disgraceful sullying 55 like that

  6. Getting the first goal was critical. Flyers are a really good defensive team and Todd didn't have the tactics to solve the task.
OT had a few bad decisions both from the bench and from Larkin. Taresenkov in ot? I would like to see them try Berggren and Elmer in OT.

  7. so is the new coach bump/honeymoon over? the wings have lost 4 of the last 5 games now including a home loss to a terrible san jose team. losses which cost this team the playoffs last year and are still happening….

  8. We barely won any faceoffs and the flyers packed the net so we never had have chances in the crease, i thought edvinsson had a good game, could have gone either way really

  9. its real simple brian and scott. detroit needs a second line centerman. you cannot compete with the good teams having two scoring lines. copp is not the answer to center cat and kane. get cousins here

  10. the offensive drought may continue indefinitely, bc Kane may be gone again. there were 3 grade A chances for him to win that game in the last 10 minutes and the OT period, and he messed up all 3. it looked like his 9 game scoreless streak, those moments. If this game happened a week ago, or any time in the last month prior to the Dallas benching when McLellan intentionally humiliated him, Kane wins that game 3 different times, does a cool celly, everyone smiles big and we all go home happy.

McLellan inherited Kane running at full speed and carrying the team. and for one horrible sequence at Dallas he demoted him to 4th line the last 2 periods of that game. he just randomly picked on that player, out of all the players. the one player who when he scores, he carries the team. and when he doesn't score the team is terrible. and now it looks like the confidence that took him months to finally work up to this year and which drove the 8 wins in 9 games may be gone again. hard to feel like you're "Showtime" when you're spending the last 2 periods of a game against a really good team skating around w the 4th line being embarrassed in front of your teammates.

this coach was handed a gift he didn't even realize was a gift (bc he hadn't seen Kane the first 25 games) and he went out of his way to wreck it for no reason. he just put Kane right back in Lalonde land, where he's an afterthought washed up bum who the coach doesn't respect, and separate from and below the 'real' top players (Ray Larkin DeBrincat). when the team is good they have a big 4 and Kane is not the 4th of them but is actually driving the bus. incredible unforced error.

  11. If not for Lyon and a little post luck, it could have been worse… as bad as it looks, I think we'll turn the corner next season. I think Yzerman is done signing declining vets and will make a quality move or simply start bringing up the talent.

  12. Guys there is not a better podcast out there. The way you cover things and how you analyze is making every listener more knowledgeable and i definitely like that you dare to call out the things that are issues and not working and it doesn't come across as slander. It comes across as a consequence of analysis and understanding the game. Honestly Brian is hands down the best candidate to succeed Keating.
    Keep it up guys!
