How Good Was Nico Rosberg Actually?

How Good Was Nico Rosberg Actually?

Most Formula 1 fans remember Nico Rosberg as the driver who took down Lewis Hamilton to win the 2016 World Championship and then walked away from it all. But how good was Nico Rosberg really? This is the story of a driver who went from being a ‘good’ racer to a world-class champion, a man who was shaped by relentless determination, deep rivalry, and the pursuit of perfection.

  1. Persistent, determined, focussed, tenacious, absolutely a superb driver, one of my favourite drivers in modern F1 history.

  2. What I always thought really ignited him to beat Lewis in 2016 was when Lewis won the championship in 2015.

Nico went on to win the last 3 races of 2015 and the first 4 of 2016, that was super impressive, yes Lewis had more reliability issues in 2016 but thats what happens sometimes unfortunately. But you can’t deny Nico upped his game significantly as soon as Lewis had that 3rd championship won

  3. Too chicken to continue the battle allowing Hamilton to win with the car that had little competition. I’m sure there was more to the saga, but F1 came off worse by a free rein for Hamilton. Worse period of the 50 years I’ve been watching.

  4. easily done…
he entered f1 and said, he´s only here to win the world title…
he did it in the same car, beating lewis…so yeah, i´d say he was pretty good…

  5. Left out the part where to and Merc swapped Nico's and lewises teams to favour he German driver in 2016

  6. Nico was the ultimate engineer inside the car itself. I credit him so much with the success of Mercedes because he was the one largely behind the testing, feedback and setup of the car. Post Rosberg and reg changes Mercedes has struggled.

Yes Lewis had more pace, but knowledge of the car, how it works, how to extract the best from it is ALL Nico. He is the modern scientist that many refer to Lauda/prost of the past as being.

  7. Idc how good ya think he was as a competitor you defend your title at least once. He won an then left… he will forever be a fuxking BUM!! I never seen any champion do that .

  8. Another probably-interesting video ruined by irritating AV effects. Seriously, why do you have flashing lights and camera shutter noises between every picture while you're talking? Not everyone is a numb-from-the-neck-up tictoc zombie. I can follow your story without being constantly stimulated by gimmicks.

  9. Wow a non British biased realistic recap of Nico's career?? Amazing! Well done, and yeah I was happy he beat Pewis (who even as a child was crying to Bono about his tyres lmao) and then bailed, which turned the knife even more on #teamLH
He had a great career and won a WDC against the best of the pre-Verstappen era on equal footing, and absolutely in the "B Car" compared to Lulu, plus Team Orders, so yeah, he deserves a lot more credit for that season than he gets.

  10. Nico Rosberg, the man, the myth, the legend who beat both Micheal Schumacher and prime Lewis Hamilton on equal machinery.

  11. IT TOOK NICO ACTUALLY RETIRING to realize JUST HOW Exceptional Rosburg actually was!
I dont like Lewis Hamilton, but I do think LH is one of rhe most naturally Gifted Drivers Ive ever seen in my lifetime…..
That being said, Nico managed to Beat Lewis ( in his absolute Prime) on a regular Basis &take the championship go the End of the season multiple times….
Had Lewis been amywhere other than Mercedes Nico would likely have multiple World Championship!
