  1. that Carolina trade doesnt work. the Canes have zero Cap Space.
moneywise for it to work it would be more like:
    KK $4.82
    Walker $3.6M
    than the prospects/picks
Canucks CAN NOT retain anything on Millers contract. and is Walker enough to sway the Deal? 30 years old 5'11" with 3 more years after this on the contract? Is He good enough to be the 2nd pairing puck mover? Do you ask for Chatfield instead? Is he a legit top 4 dman? So a 3rd line center and a 4/5 defenceman for a 1st line 100point capable center ahh jeez that hurts..

  2. common theme here is everybody is wanting to take out the trash and pick up a point a game top six centre with a 59% face off winning percentage. kot's, chatfield, a 1st and a 2nd.

  3. This is typical negotiation tactic by the Canucks. They had a deal with the Rangers. It didn’t go down. So Canucks try to raise leverage by including Carolina; a team the Rangers have eliminated from the playoffs 2 of the last 3 years.

I don’t think Carolina is a real landing spot for JT since the Canucks will not get a better return than they would from the Rangers.

  4. Nah Canes shouldn’t trade for JT Miller who can kill the locker room. Canucks will ask for too much plus the term and AAV for an aging JT Miller isn’t a smart idea.

  5. Guentzel was a pending free agent so Carolina was just renting him hoping to sign him whereas Miller still has term on his deal. That's why the package seems greater for Miller.

  6. I thought the offer from the Ranger was a joke, that offer is a joke and a half. You going to give Milsy for free and take back a bad contract and bad player. Necas coming back would be the minimum for me if i was boss. I prefer to believe the players and his agent are not lying. I don't think he asked for a trade, maybe Milsy asked the Canucks to trade Petey, i would buy that, lol. Milsy has been traded out of Vancouver so many times since he got here that if i had a dollar every time i heard a stupid trade idea i could buy the team.

  7. The problem is JT's no trade cause. That means he will get to select the team(s) he is willing to go to. That means probably a contender, or NYC area. Given Canucks is still in the running to make the playoffs, probably a Eastern team.

  8. Canucks fans you owe Bizz one for this because he's exactly right. The correct move right now is patience. Making a trade from weakness usually ends in disaster.

  9. I agree with Paul Bissonette…if you can sort it through then keep Miller…if not, it's a good chance to get some good pieces back.

  10. This drama seems to be more about Miller than Miller and Petey. When asked about their relationship Petey got visibly frustrated at having to answer the question. Almost as if he felt, as Boudreau stated last night on TSN, that the media had overblown the entire story. "Mountains out of mole hills" was the phrase Boudreau chose.

Now, Petey also came out and publicly declared his interest in staying in Vancouver – while JT Miller is still his teammate by the way. Nobody thought that was strange? Miller didn't publicly declare his interest in staying and took a leave of absence.

Now we all know Canadian NHL markets are a fishbowl, of which the media plays a significant role, and many point to Vancouver as the most aggressively microscopic. I can't help but think this is far less about Miller and Petey and more about Miller and the media. I'd bet Miller has had enough of people like Farhan specifically and just said, "I'm out." And I'd bet he has nothing bad to say about Petey or even the city itself.

So while the media will admit Canadian markets are more intense, and players often choose other places because of this extra intensity, in a moment like this, where we are all baffled at how two grown men can't get along,, maybe it isn't even about them, maybe it's about the media's disturbing habit of getting into the personal lives and relationships of the players just so they have content to peddle. Sports media ventures too often into TMZ territory. Participating in low frequency gossip, conjecture, and speculation. The lowest forms of communication. I personally would be OK seeing another three or four of the ever-dwindling number of reporters in Vancouver dismissed of their duties and sent packing starting with Farhan Lalji.

  11. Biz should be GM.
Force the wonder trio to stay together & figure it out. If they lose Miller, they’re finished & it’s back to rebuilding
