JD, I've said it before and I'll say it again, the style of play the Sharks are playing is gonna have them get their butt's kicked most every night.
It looked no different from Columbus to the Islanders. They look like they are playing a different game completely than the style the Sharks are playing. It doesn't take talent to be next to the other team's players when they are on the boards to break the puck out. The Sharks players practically give up the ice from the other teams zone to the face off dots in their own zone "for free". They glide everywherr on the ice in all 3 zones, it's terrible and has nothing to do with talent.
Edit: yes, I do think Warsofsky is partly to blane here. Because the style is still the same when they do manage to win.
Effort and style can keep teams with less talent in games, that's how teams with less talent have done it over the decades to be competitive. The Sharks right now aren't competitive and it is embarrassing.
Toffoli has same number of points as Timo Meier in New Jersey. Sharks need more younger players to develop. One more high picks draft then hit free agency to get some better players.
With as many players who played sick or banged up, I'll give them a mulligan for last night. Granlund is playing too many minutes for too many games. The kids (Celebrini, Smith and Graf) are playing more games than they did in an NCAA season and post-season combined. This team really needs the 4 nations break to recharge.
I might be the time to get a winning coach!
Anyone noticed Ceci on the first 2 islanders goals? He is so slow
We are still 2-3 years away. We need 2-3 more high end players from the draft. Then hit free agency.
