  1. Let Evans go, if he wants more money that's fine, but a lot of players leave and regret, heck he might enjoy leaving and win a Cup with The Devils or so. Heck he's a Leaf fan lol. Wasting 5 mil for a 40 point player on an amazing year good luck. The more the go in the future, he will get less playing time, Dach struggled so it gave him more ice time before.

  2. do not mess up Hutson. Build around him if you must. like crosby had matt cook, get him a big d man or something. if anything shore up hutson with a big D man or something serious. not a goon but someone. build around this guy

  3. 5 years might be too long for Evans as a 3C or 4C… especially with Beck coming up probably next year. But depending on $$$ amount may work for both team and player.

  4. Beauty goal by Dach love to see him feeling it. The Utah D looked awful there though 3 guys doing nothing but watching. I’m sure the coaches let them know

  5. If they trade Evans , the team will regress next season , losing both dvorak and Evans , the two best faceoff and defensive players on the team will put too much work load on Suzuki , and when dvorak walks , there won’t be a single left handed center on the team or in the system capable of replacing anyone

Montreal need a top 6 left handed established center and a complete all around right handed defenceman , those are the only 2 things the habs need to become a powerhouse

    ,

  6. People keep calling Evans a 4th line center…LOL,,,,As far I'm concerned , there are only 2 forwards on the entire team that are more valuable than him…Suzuki & Caulfield…He's easily worth Slav & Dach combined..Laine don't count 'cause he's only been around for a cup of coffey..As a GM, if you can't recognize that star defensive forwards are just as crucial as offensive ones, you're dooming your team to a lot of struggling. Just pay the man…I don't understand this aversion to his age. Carrier is proving himself to be a diamond in the rough…hmmm,,,isn't he the same age. and just who is that 39 year old about to break Gretzky's record???? Folks need to stop seeing age, and start seeing heart. Any promise offered by Beck, Hage , or even Demidov is still just castles in the sky for now. At the end of the day, NOONE really knows if these guys are gonna be any better than Matt Higgins Or Terry Ryan. Hope & anticipation means Jack Diddley Squat til they're proving it in The Red, White & Blue. Hell, Demidov could get injured in his first pre season game and be out for the season [or longer]. Respect the guys that are getting the job done for you RIGHT NOW…if cup contenders see Evans as a valuable asset, that pretty much tells you all you need to know. If the man WANTS to move on for whatever reason. that's one thing…but don't force him out by undervaluing his contributions with a low ball, insulting offer. If he goes, Hughes and Habs faithful better wrap their heads around not making the playoffs…and seeing him join the McDonagh/Lehkonen club for guys lifting Lord Stanley on teams with better vision.

  7. ONE fing guy make a video about asking viewers to subscribe result in more subscripition…am fing sick of it !!! have you thought about tresor chest instead? fu guys am fing done with this!!!!!!

  8. 5 or 6 yr deal for Jake Evan’s, is money well spent for the future of the Habs. Kent Hughes needs to figure this one out and keep Evan’s around for long haul.

  9. No matter how good he's been this season, Evans needs to remember that there's a reason why he's a 4th line player…this is the 1 year where he's actually been noticeable. He has always been a solid shorthanded player, but this is the first season where he's been productive offensively. I doubt this spark will last, and we're already seeing it disappear game after game (no points in his last 7 games). Hope the organization doesn't overpay for him cause his form will almost certainly drop next year

  10. Two years, $3.1 million, with a varying trade clause, extension, and incentive bonuses for Evans.
Lots of contracts looming, albeit with some cap relief too.

  11. Lane is the main reason the Habs have turned to corner, and Demidov will be the icing on the cake. Trade Evans and bring up Beck! It’s not a popular move but it’s the right thing to do.

  12. To Evans, you can’t always get what you want, and there are trade offs. Playing in Montreal for this team is a bonus. 4 years ok, 3 years better.

  13. Okay, people. I'm not a 'plant' saying this, but if you come here more than once every couple of months, do Josh and Jesse a favour and subscribe ? These guys take time out of their no doubt busy and complicated personal lives to come in here literally every day and share the latest Habs news with us. I personally don't always agree with all of their takes on things, but that's totally not the point. They offer fellow Habs fans a venue to hear the latest developments we may individually not be aware of, and a place to discuss and share thoughts with others. It's an incredible commitment on their part, and it costs us nothing to at least subscribe. (Preaching rant over…and thanks Josh and Jesse for the enthusiasm and insight! 👍)

  14. Here's a better list than that dumb under 23 chart. Look up NHL players under 21, Hutson is listed currently at 3rd, only behind Bedard and Cooley.

  15. The fact with Evans is that we're weak at the center position. We simply can't afford to let him go. If one of our center get hurt we are in deep s***t.

  16. Interesting stats to share. Since Dec. 15th, exactly one month, Montreal leads the league with PPG%, PPG, GPG% and is 6 th in GA%. Therefore the best team in the league in a 31 day period. Not bad!
