  1. Thank you DK!!!! We make up these narratives and hold them to be true, and this is one narrative that isn't true….I appreciate you saying it!

  2. You probably hate me saying this all the time….But Dubas' track record didn't warrant full autonomy and control of an organization for 7 years…..his track record in his professional career is average at best….but he is regarded as some kid genius which is so weird to me. You can go from day 1 and review all his moves, and most would be categorized as 'failures'

  3. I'll tell you what DK, one thing that happens when you listen to a podcast every day the host of the podcast shows up in your dreams too 😂

Idk why you ended up in my dream, but me and some relatives were in Pittsburgh and I met you. It was odd lol

  4. Another bad move by Dubas is the Karlsson trade and the ridiculous amount of money that’s paid to him. I know Dubas had nothing to do with the contract that he signed in San Jose, but he didn’t have to trade for him. I can’t believe that no one else in the league could’ve helped us get rid of the contracts we got rid of! Plus the fact Granlund’s played pretty well in San Jose.

  5. DK, with the general cloud hanging over this team’s goaltending position, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of irony that as soon as we let Jarry go, we treated to the performances that these two gave this weekend. The easiest way to go on a run in hockey is to have the hot goaltender, we actually might get that for change… and that’s exciting!!

  6. Good segment as always DK. Hextall made a lot of mistakes, but unfortunately most of the bad outweighs the good,. You could even say Ryan Graves only happened, because the offseason prior, Hextall traded away John Marino and Mike Matheson and acquired Jeff Petry and Jan Ruutta, which forced the Penguins to basically attempt to redo their entire defensive group in the 2023 offseason. It's the domino effect.

What I do appreciate out of guys like Jim Rutherford and Kyle Dubas, is they face the music and admit that they made a mistake and try to correct it. Jim Rutherford got off to rocky start as his tenure as Penguins GM, when he made a mistake, he corrected and he faced the music. Last week Dubas faced the music on Jarry and admitted his mistake. I will admire GM's and coaches who face the music and admit their mistakes. Ron Hextall never did that once here, he never admitted that parting ways with John Marino and Mike Matheson was a mistake, he never admitted that giving Jeff Carter a two year extension and a full no movement clause was a mistake or that trading Jared McCann was a mistake. He did some good things, but never faced the music and admitted that he made mistakes where his predecessor and the guy who succeeded him have both did that.

  7. even though they lost to the Caps, its still night and day goalie wise. Blomqvist can actually make routine saves, and he handles the pressure well. Jarry couldn't do that

  8. Dk, it’s not about the current player mix that Hextall screwed up. It’s the players he let go. You one of the few voices for the fan base. Please do better and apply some simple contract math to the players hextall let go.

  9. Thank you DK. Ned had a great game, and a goal . I thought Blomqvist had played very well, he had successfully block many shots. Awesome DK

  10. As I said before, Hextall tied an anchor around the ankles of the team, DUBAS threw it over the side of the boat

  11. It's hard to look past Matheson for Petry. It's hard to look past Marino for… ??? I forgot his name already. There was no need to trade those players. Then we wouldn't have needed to look at someone like Karlsson. We would have had enough offense from the D on the affordable already. I questioned both moves the second I heard they were made. They turned out worse than I even anticipated. Also, the McCann thing will always baffle me. I still feel like Philly hired Hextall and tricked Pittsburgh into paying him. Although it didn't help Philly in the end either lol
