I didn't know that the 80s batsman batting style is also classical.
over 10 hours 💀
Graham Gooch probably has the ugliest stance I've ever seen from a "big" player. That's hard to look at.
😂
Gooch makes 300 and Benaud commentates like hes watching paint dry.
Great innings, but you might have as well told me they were playing in Mumbai. The pitch was a gimme.
I was 15 and a keen player at school. We had Test Match Special on in the car on the way up to beautiful Shropshire for a cottage holiday and we drove for hours just grinning. Happy days.
Talk to anshukha sharma Ranbir Kapoor Ankit bansal neeti mittal Varun Dhawan kajal agarwal tamaha bhatiya prabha s rajnikanth Amitabh Bachchan etc u all 2 3 percent people r dead for me bye..
Big innings not the best!
3:20
He didn’t quite get there and played it with a bit of a crossed bat.
Yeh…it was a sweep shot😮
Crazy how much cricket has changed when senior people in the game didn’t recognise these things and were totally confused by attacking cricket.
1:47 probably the most expensive drops in the test game.
Gooch scored 456
First inn: 333
Second inn: 123
Younis khan at Banglore 2005 scored 351
First innings: 267
Second: 84 not out
Anyone else here after Sam Northeast's 335* today?
Kiran More, actually gave Gooch another career, possibly another 12 centuries. Had Gooch failed in the series, it was probably curtains for him given the torrid time the English Team was facing back then
Laminated bats have a next kind of power
One of d great opener of test cricket.
333 in the first innings and he scored 123 runs in d second innings of this test.totally he scored 456 runs in this test ,highest ever individual score i TEST HISTORY. GREAT GREAT GREAT GRAHAM GOOCH.
when you had to work hard for yiur runs, unlike today
I was at that game with my brother and best mate.. a week before I got married!!!
What mandela effect did i just watch. I clearly remember Gooch being dropped by Kiran More of Kapil Dev's bowling. In this video i see Gooch being dropped by Kiran More the wicketkeeper off Sanjiv Sharma's bowling.
333 at an age of 37…..Graham Gooch was just exceptional !!
This innings made his conversion rate superb…. He smashed 11 hundreds and 15 fifties more… All after the declining carrer age of 37
The first batsmen in the galaxy who have the back lift not on the ground above the stumps😂😂😂
All Gower is thinking is why didn't Gooch play like this the summer before. As were we all.
But it was an epic innings which we all loved at the time.
So good to watch a batsman without a modern bat in full flight. Bloody brilliant mate👏👏👏🍻❤
Isn't it nice to see the lords crowd not acting like raving dogs at a test match 😉
I was there for some of this probably Thursday or Friday. Just 9 💯s says Jack Bannister. But Daddies!!
Purists often say that Mohammad Azharuddin’s, in the same game but in a losing cause, was the finest 💯 of the match.
Don Bradman 254 in the 2nd Ashes test of 1930. This ain't even close to that.
Gooch was a really high class player. One of the greatest batsman the game has seen.
Mr G.A. Gooch – legend .. he lived with his family a few hundred yards from me .. Ridgeway, Hutton, Brentwood, Essex. Happy dayz .. xx .. 💜🏏✴👾👽🌙🦉 PTW .. yeah I am a night owl from London . xx
What a great number to get out on 333
Whippage!
I'm an Indian. I am very happy to watch this video. Brilliant triple century by Sir Graham Gooch. He scored 333 runs at the age of 37. Nowadays, no one can score triple centuries in 1 innings at the age of 37. His batting style was also very good. He didn't get tired at the age of 37 to score 333. What a player he was. Now 2024. But this triple century was scored 3 decades ago. Wow. Sir Graham Gooch was a brilliant batsman. But I was born in 1995. I don't know about him, but I loved his batting style.
❤ 🙏
But the match is remembered for Azhar 121
🤔 79 matches and 9 hundreds 🤔 Really? 333 at a dead pitch is not bad👍
He went in to this game having smashed 179 off just 152 balls only two days before for Essex against Lancashire in the County Championship, it was actually his fellow opener in this innings Mike Atherton who eventually dismissed him.
14:28. OK who else was waiting for Ritchie to mention a confectionery stall!
It was so good to see the Indian fielders applauding at 100, 200, and 300. you just don't see it these days. Fair play to those gentlemen.
Just a couple of days after my mother died. Will never forget.
I watched this innings from start to finish except the bit just after tea on the 2nd day when the BBC decided to go to the preview of a horse race when Gooch was on 299 not out….
मैने ये match देखा है
Look at his balance, could put a cup of tea on his head and no drop would be spilt.

Vintage Cricket ❤
Caught some of his second innings live – my first match ever. Really great summer of cricket and especially for Gooch
Sanjeev Sharma almost got Gooch out but More dropped an easy catch…hard luck!
Best strokes of english sublimation.
