Frank Corrado: What has gone wrong with Tocchet’s game planning? Issues of team speed

TSN’s Frank Corrado on what he saw last night in Winnipeg, and what has gone so wrong with Rick Tocchet’s game planning this season. Frank also talks about the issue of speed in the game, and how some of the summer decisions have led the Canucks here.

  1. I count at least two ugly goals Lankinen allowed but by no means was he the ONLY reason the Canucks had a disastrous performance against the Jets. I sure don’t see a reason to increase the Canucks’ odds of this season of seeing playoff action from 50–50 given the many issues that remain with that team including the blueline.

  2. They dump and chase in the offensive zone and they chase and dump in the defensive zone and we can't win most races to the puck. There's a lot of losing to come with this system and mix of players.

  3. Corrardo… who were all the 'burners' that they had last year that were the difference makers if speed is the issue? I know you're in love with Winnipeg, but your theory doesn't add up

  4. When miller banged his stick and screamed at silovs last year I knew there was a disease ready to spread

  5. Petey CAN be pretty fast with his choppy style. Brock is pathetic speed wise. JT is decent speed wise when he wants to play. DeBrusk is avg.

  6. I don’t know why the wheels have just popped off the Canucks wagon this season, but man, it’s all kinds of suckage
