Sports fans are hilarious, we go from the world is literally crumbling beneath our feet to being possible champions in the span of 5 games . I for one don't think there's any moves we can make this season to make us able to win 16 games this spring, but if we play well keep our guys value up we might just be contenders very soon.
At least we have the goalie but i believe we are going no where until drury gets fired same old shit we need to get bigger and younger but he trades kakko for nothing.

To be an elite team, the Rangers need to change their philosophy. You have read my comments, and I will not change my position. The Rangers have been struggling to find an identity for decades. One cup since 1940 speaks volumes. There has been no stability. Every Ranger team is always, ALWAYS in need of grit, size, and toughness. It isn't difficult to be consistent, just don't be consistently mediocre. Hockey ages players quickly, which is why you don't trade for veterans long in the tooth. Igor will NOT win with the Rangers, so trade him now and get a king's ransom. Fox can't flourish without a tough, well-positioned partner. Lindgren is a trooper, but he is injury prone. Miller looked like the new Larry Robinson after 22-23, but he has regressed terribly. I have watched 7 decades of Ranger hockey: It's a philosophical thing. Making the playoffs shouldn't be the goal. Dominating and winning cups should be. As for J.T. Miller, we HAD him and traded him away. He will not change the team. Too late. Build a foundation and an ethos. I remain hopeful.
we tried to the abbreviated reboot before and it kinda worked. i think this team needs some work but doesn't necessarily need to be torn down, but i have zero faith in Drury as GM at this point. I don't think he can assemble the right pieces and enable a coach to support a healthy team winning culture.
Likely not a cup contender is bad news. Z still struggling but trying to regain form. Not sure why Coach didn't put Cuylle or Carrick instead of Z on the shoot out.
Good news is that the past two weeks have seen quality games. Last night's shutout of Columbus was very well played by both teams. Not flawless, but not the terrible nonefforts of the slump period.
More good news – the play of the new guys. Borgen was constantly called by the announcers for good defensive plays. Also – Igor back in top form.
What happened to all the headlines “sell,sell,trade,trade” lol I screen shot a comment from a friend saying they won’t make the playoffs… just so I can show them if they do in a few months lol.
Mika sucks now – three breakaways and he can’t score once? He needs to go see Pavel Datsyuk and ask him for some help. 0-3 as a Rangers top scorer on breakaways says it all. The older Rangers need to be fazed out little by little
Maybe they should use this year as a final build to get rid of dead wood and replace with solid oak and if it takes getting rid of fan favorites then so be it for those same fans don't understand or see the full picture year after year.
Kaapo Kakko now has more points than Kreider, Lafreniere, Cuylle & Reilly Smith. He also has the same amount of points as Mika. Food for thought
Shesty is the Bestie! People who complain about his salary are clueless. The D is not perfect, but Borgen is steady Eddie & that is exactly what you need on D. Vakk has been OK too. Apparently the JT Miller trade almost went through last night but fell through. I still want to trade Chytil, Miller & Brodzinski or Vesey for Miller & Tyler Myers. Drury & Laviolette really piss me off bringing in a one dimensional player like Kaliyev & pushing Berard out. Yes Berard needs to up his defensive game but he's better than Kaliyev. Othmann is ramping up again & he & Perreault need to be on the team next year. Borgen needs to be re-upped not traded!
I don't think any retool or trade will do much until Mika gets his shit together and gets back to being an 80+ points per season player. The Rangers can't do squat w/o an elite top line center, and we're stuck with him until 2030.
I only see 2 teams stanley cup ready Winnipeg and Washington
