Into the third I was honestly figuring something bad was going to happen. When the bolts pulled the goalie and then went on the power play, I figured this "feel good" game was going to end painfully. Glad I was wrong. Any chance when McAvoy & Lindholm are back, Carlos can spend a few games somewhere that's not the ice?
Lettieri was in so they could get a look at him. I get it we want the kids in and Lettieri is an also ran. I have a feeling the coach went with a more experienced player way of thinking. This was an important game, and the boys answered the bell. Leave the A on Coyle, Mac needs to earn it back! Lohrei sure put in some minutes and I think he did just fine, we have to keep in mind he is still a rookie and will make rookie mistakes.
Beating Florida Panthers in OT will be the catalyst to this SC run our boys in đ€ & đ are about to go on due to me manifesting this đđź LET'S GO BSSSSSSSSS !!!!
WRT Frederic – honestly, I have never been high on him. I love the fight and the way he sticks up for teammates, but I think what everyone has wanted from him is a near-Lucic type, a big power forward with middle-top six ability, and that's just never going to happen at this point. I want him to succeed and it would be weird to see him in a different sweater, but at this point if we can get good value, I think he's the most key trade piece on the roster, and the one I would be least upset to see go.
Also, props to Spoon. That wasn't just his first goal as a Bruin, it was his first NHL goal at all. Big moment and a real snipe.
Agree about Lettiere 100 percent. Had to give him a shot. You hit a sore spot with me with Matty P. Never liked him. He's a crybaby! "why don't i get called up" . Anyone on the team could of made that pass a two on one with neither player being covered? Matty did nothing the rest of this game. I just don't see it! This might be harsh, but the way he skates is painful to watch…..so bent over……..hate to be his back cause that's the way I skated. Yes he's trained professionally. Watch the rest of players. Anyways, solid two wins. I agree on Tampa's geekie is better than ours!
It was so exciting being at the game to see Poitras. Coyle is sick too and was a game time decision so I don't fault him for less than stellar performance. Seeing Koepke go down was scary. Hope he'll be ok!
Seems like the first 2 on 1 breakaway we converted all year. Thatâs the difference between skilled players and mucklers that the bruins seem to live. Play Poitras with skilled players and he will help them.
Any notion that the Bruins should be doing anything but at least trying some sort of re-tool is just ludicrous based on how this team has played for a calendar year now, how flawed their big club roster is and how truly terrible their prospect pool and farm system are
This yearâs Boston Bruins
8-14-1 vs playoff teams 3-6-1 in their last 10 games
-One of the NHLâs worst Farm System for a decade
-Farm System is currently ranked 30th to dead last and 32nd EVERYWHERE
-Flawed big club roster that clearly lacks sufficient forward scoring talent while also having the lowest scoring D-Corps in the NHL
-This year the Bruins have one of the worst 5×5 offenses and Power Plays in the NHL while they also have been basically .500 overall and well below .500 vs playoff teams
-Last year from January to May the Bruins were one of the worst 5×5 offensive teams in the NHL, they have one of the worst power plays and 5×5 offenses in the league, the played .500 overall and well below .500 vs playoff teams
Thatâs a full calendar year of the Bruins showing everyone exactly who they are. A team that is in desperate need of an influx of talent, whether that talent comes from the draft, via trades or free agency
Once you get past Lysell, Merkulov and Dean Letourneau the Bruins donât have a single forward that projects as a Top 6 player
And not a single of those guys would hold much, if any, value to any other NHL GM. Instead, all three would just be thrown in players in a larger types of deals
Their next group of prospects at forward such as Farinacci, Duran, Spicer, Locmelis, Kuntar, Harrison, Pelosi, Walsh,,,
Each and every last one of those guys is a 3rd-7th round prospect that projects as low event, bottom 6 player, IF, they were to reach their ceilings and thatâs a BIG IF
At defense itâs even worse in terms of prospects for the Bruins as there is nothing in PVD thatâs ready to contribute at the NHL level in a full time role
And every single D- prospect the Bruins have in their minor league system is a late round, 4th-7th round draft pick that has a limited chance of even making it to the NHL based on historical NHL draft metrics
Don Sweeney. Well, heâs drafted a gaggle of d-men in rounds 3-7 since he became GM in 2015.
Do you know who the NHL games played leader is drafted by Don Sweeney in the 3rd-7th round since 2015? Um, NO ONE
Not a single d-man Don Sweeney has ever drafted in the 3rd-7th rounds has played a single NHL shift
Do you know who the games played leader at forward is drafted by Don Sweeney in rounds 3-7? Itâs Jacob Lauko and his lousy 89 games with Boston before moving on to MIIN
So based on Don Sweneeyâs own draft results in rounds 3-7, over 10 YEARS, it sure seems like we shouldnât expect much from any forward or d-an Sweeney drafts in rounds 3-7.
At the big club level they still lack a 1C because all Elias Lindholm is a good 2C, not a 1C
Brad Marchand is a good player. At 37 heâs not a real NHL 1LW anymore
Neither Brazeau nor Geekie are Top 6 players and they both are playing wing in their Top 6 regularly
Zacha is wing on his best day as heâs done nothing but fail as a Top 6 center
Charlie Coyle is a good, defense first 3C that has no business being a Top 6 anything and his 4 lousy assist on the year and his career playoff stats more than prove that
The rest of the big club roster at forward is nothing but a bunch of bottom 6 players, some of which are adequate in their roles, others not so much and not one of them, a reliable scorer
The Bruins still have a decent core and most of their defense is locked up and under contract for the most part for the next several years as is Jeremy Swayman
If they could make a few decent hockey trades to add some assets at this yearâs deadline, free up some Cap Space for next year and do well this upcoming off season, the Bruins could easily be Cup competitive again fairly quickly
However, if the Jacobs actually let Don Sweeney piss away even more of this teamâs future chasing what will clearly be yet another round playoff exit this SpringâŠ.. He should be sued for malpractice by this entire teamâs fanbase
Sweeeny has had 10 years as GM and here are his accomplishments
-8 of 9 years failed to win more than 1 playoff round & you know this year itâs going to be 9 of 10 years
-ONE, lousy 2nd round series win in 10 years as GM, ONE!!! And that single one was back in 2019
-One of the NHLâs worst farm systems for a decade where itâs currently ranked 30th to 32nd and dead last in the league EVERYWHERE!!!
-Cap Jail
-Flawed big club roster that he spent $160M in free agent dollars on last off-season
-Flawed big club roster that since January of 2024 (a calendar year now) has played .500 overall, well below .500 vs playoff teams while also having one of the NHLâs worst 5×5 offenses and power plays as well
There is nothing about this yearâs Bruins team that says they should âaddâ at the deadline
Instead, the Bruins should be selling off some of their pieces in an effort to at least take a shot at a short-term re-tool but if they donât do it nowâŠ
That short-term re-tool is likely to turn into a 5-7+ year rebuild because this team needs an injection of talent desperately and they lack the resources internally to do much about it right now
Letting Don Sweeney piss away even more of their assets this year wonât lead to a Cup this Spring. Instead, all that will do is empty the cupboard more and ensure that the Bruins are even that much further away from their next Stanley Cup
Ottawa game Recap It's official Lindholm and Zadarov worse contracts ever. Poitras benched again? Kastilic best add on this season. Time to bring up Merk and Lysell. Stick tap Lehteri and Geekie. Solid game.

I will never forgive the Bruins for trading Seguin away. I loved, and still love, Tyler, and that was such a bad move.
You could tell Coyle was not 100% better after his illness. Just the best option they had available given the IR situation.
I heard rumors Lysell was a healthy scratch in Provi… not sure the validity to that though
The last shot Willeberg landed on Freddy was a bomb, so at least he got one good one in.

Better load up on some kraft singles cause the sniperoonies are at an all time high
Good game letâs go Bruins đ€đ
A dub is a dub is a dub, true true true, maybe we work our way out of this and become respectable

Sounds like you might miss Sunday Brunch. Enjoy the weekend
That's more like it . Hopefully sign of things to come . Onward and upward.
birthday week? 0o
Lysell was listed as a scratch on the nhl app
who's your favorite birthday celebrity? The stork, baby new year, Jesus?
10:25 dub train rollin in
Bring the kids up, screw making trades that weaken the team in the long run, let the kids play, they are the future for the B's.
I love how you âcelebrateâ our Bâs and your Hi Quality Fiance. We all know Low Qual is a quality fellaâ.
Fuck the game on Saturday just enjoy your weekend bro!
