We just witnessed NHL history! Pittsburgh Penguins goalie Alex Nedeljkovic not only had a great game between the pipes stopping 40 of 42 shots, he became the first goalie in NHL history to record an assist and a goalie goal in the same game! He is the first to ever do it, but he’s also the first to ever score a goal in the ECHL, AHL (X2) and the NHL. Truly, a feat that we may never see again! This game between the Penguins and the Buffalo Sabres was a fun one as these two teams battle for points in a tight race in the East for the wild card spots. idk i think this is getting more and more common now. 2 goalie goals this season, and maybe 3 other attempts. Coaches are pulling their goalies EVERY SINGLE GAME these days, I see goalie goals becoming way more common, as they literally have been in the last couple seasons.
