  1. There are some who have told me that I shouldn't blame Grubauer for his poor play as Kraken Goalie – that it's all because the Kraken defense isn't very good. I strongly disagree with the assessment that it's all the defense, not the goalie, that is the problem.

Joey Daccord plays behind the same defense, whatever its faults, and gets very different results. Why? Because Daccord is a good goalie, and Grubauer is a bad goalie. That simple – we really need a better backup for when Daccord needs a night off than Phil Grubauer. Now it's true that the Kraken don't always win with Daccord in net – witness the loss to Winnipeg a night or two ago – but at least Daccord still plays very well and gives our team the chance to win – not his fault that the Kraken offense couldn't manage more than 1 measly goal in a 2-1 loss. However, with Grube in net, the offense would need 5 or 6 goals, at least, to have a decent chance of bringing home a win – Grube's bad enough that I still think the Kraken might be better off playing 6 skaters and an empty net all game long rather than keep Grubauer in net.

Anyway, great game from Daccord again tonight – outstanding play by Kakko and nice hat trick from Schwartz – Go Kraken!

  2. Schwartz matty kakko line putting in work the last 3 or 4 games, and Joey with a heroic performance in the 3rd getting outshot 15-1. Good stuff

  3. lol Mahura took out four Kings by hitting one of them. If I was the Kings coach the three guys standing around after the hit while the Kraken went 4-on-1 for a goal would spend the entire next practice skating laps.

  4. The only shot the Kraken had in the 3rd was the empty netter, and they only had one in the second half of the 2nd period as well (that's 2 shots in half the game).
