SImon Nemec recently voiced his Frustration with Tom Fitzgerald and the New Jersey Devils in a Slovakian interview about his Not playing in the NHL. Didnt request a trade, but we’ve seen this happen in the past where players are unhappy with playing in the AHL after being a high draft pick and Not seeing a spot opening up in the near future.
Will this be a fork in the road for Nemec and the Devils and force him to request a trade leading upto the NHL trade Deadline

It is a tough situation for Nemec. Seeing the Devils playing so well while playing on a minor league team that is a basement dweller. Don't blame him for his frustration. Hope he remains patient and stays with the Devils in any case.

Trading Nemec would be a mistake.
Unrealistic, but I would rather keep Nemec/Casey and Kovechkin and move on from Dougie than to move Nemec or anyone else. Dougie has been better as of late, but he is a 9m player that most nights brings very sub 9m performances. He puts up points, but he isn't driving the play like he did 2 years ago. He is collecting points because he is on the ice more with NJD's top 6 and on the PP.

Nemec is going to become an elite top pairing defenseman. I would trade Casey before trading Nemec. If they do trade him, it will come back to haunt us down the road for years but there is a clear issue of too many assets and not enough money to pay everyone. If Fitz plans on moving him he better do it before this becomes a Jiricek situation and his value drops.

Hard to sympathise with a 20 year old who has done nothing in the leauge and talking about being traded … It always comes down to this in any sport, if you are good enough, you'll play. He wasn't good enough at the start of the season so work hard and wait for te next oppertunity like everyone else. Number two pick doesnt mean jackshit anymore and it doesnt entitle you to a roaster spot. This kids got some growing up to do and it wouldn't shock me if part of the reason he isn't on the devils is this bullshit attitude. His comments help no one, including himself.
He has no leverage, I'd prefer to wait until 7/1 to see how the blueline shapes up. Kovacevic isn't locked up, and Hamilton is about to enter his first year of that modified-ntc. Assess those first before dealing away Nemec's potential imo. Love Dougie, and hate to say it, but his slapshot hasn't been there post injury (and that's a whole lotta money to free up).

Think everyone is overdoing it. The fact that he said it in Slovak to a Slovakian reporter tells me it wasn't meant as a message to the Devils. Might seem weird but he probably was just venting thinking it wouldn't go viral. Sophomore PR mistake.
Jirecek the other D-stud in his draft class selected early is still mostly playing in the minors. They both have the same ceiling, we valued Nemec more because he was right handed. Jirecek was traded and made more noise but that is likely because Columbus was a crap organization up and down. Waddelll was putting out fires left by their last GM. If a player wasn't happy, Waddelll waa all about dealing them out to cut all locker room cancer stuff rather than going out of his way to make them happy.
Fitz won't want the Devils to get a bad rep under him for not being patient with prospects. He probably makes him happy without calling Nemo up. Utica may have locker room issues, he already fired their coach and are in the bottom of the AHL. Probably talks to him and assures him of getting a shot next season; likely happens because we'll lose Kovacevic for cap reasons. Will do little things to make him happy in the meantime.

I think they should trade Nemec but I don't think they will.
The problem is, we have no where to put him and we cant afford a contract that he's going to want, plus we have Arseni Gritsyuk coming at the end of the season who is going to need a contract as well. At this rate, the devils may be sellers come trade deadline to set us up for the future.

Will Butcher was kept too long. This could lead to something similar.
He prob will.get traded. He will.never see top 4 minutes with this lineup. Main reason why he played 60 games last year was due to injury. Maybe a trade with haula and Tatar for a Miller. Imagine JT Miller on the 3rd line as a devil. Devils are cetntialty in win now mode so this move makes sense. Miller can also play wing… Hischer Miller Meier. Sounds spicy…might as well trade him now too before you get a kakko return.
