  1. When I watched Dennis Kearns play for the Canucks I was not impressed, I called him some nasty names. Years after he retired he came out to play an exhibition game against the BCTV Tubes a Team I was a member of. I was shocked how good he was, he made the rest of us beer league players look silly. I gained a lot of respect for him for his skill and skating.

  2. The defense has been glorified AHL level for while. And there's only one reason unbelievably that it hasn't been more in the forefront. One Kevin Lankinen. Zadorov has been excellent for a bad Boston team.

  3. Kind of a wild take to say the blame is secondary scoring when the big guns haven't gotten out of first gear all season, aside from Hughes.

  4. Shannon nailed it perfectly about the Canucks — "I was shocked it was the same hockey club". I feel likewise. The difference between the Leafs game and the Jets game is truly hard to understand. I don't care if they lose if they come out to give a 100% effort, but the Jets game was nowhere close. The LA game on Thursday and the Oilers game on Saturday will be no less challenging, and Canucks desperately need to get back on track, or else.

  5. I think this was said at yesterday's post-game… the middle/bottom six forwards are supposed to score no more than 20 goals a season. Divide that up in a 82-game schedule, and they should score once every four games. Sherwood is on pace to score 26; Suter is on pace to score 22 and Garland is also on pace for 22. Saying the depth players are not producing overshadows the fact that both Petey and Miller are on pace to score only about 60 points. This team is going nowhere if #9 and #40 are not producing, and half way through the season, I honestly cannot say I have any inclining as to how they can get out of their funk.

  6. Garland is second on the team in points, we can’t get a prospect to stay in the show, and we have noah juulsen playing big boy minutes in the third period of games. This team and this “core” is cooked for a long tiime if they don’t start trying to get some pieces back. Keep in mind we have been in need of an actual rebuild since 2012. 13 years later we have no draft picks, no prospects, and no cap space.

  7. can JR and PA fix this team, without major surgery? if they trade both petey and JT, do they look to constructing a whole new type of team? maybe more run and gun as well as strong defense?

  8. Besides Hughes this team just plains sucks trade boeser asap get something for him move miller or Petey or both quit wasting our Hughes time because theres no way hes resigning with this garbage team
