It’s the dawg days of the season. That combined with the bunch of hockey Florida had played is really hurting the team. They’ll turn it around before the deadline imo. Take it from me a lightning fan who has experienced this lol.
Good thing is we know exactly where the fixes need to be. But we just don’t know how long that will take.
How does a team that outshoots their opponent 2-1 lose a game by 3?. Oh I forgot it is the Panthers play lately

This isnt just "coasting" Jaws. This is not a playoff team. This is a bad team.
You can only do this to a fan base for so long before the fans start walking away. Don't have to win every game, but a 7-3 or occasional 6-3-1 record would be respectable. 😒 The traffic cone really shows how much he's missed. Tomorrow should be fun 😂
Man, f**k this team. I'm not watching again until the playoffs. This is a first or second round bust team for sure

I'd like to say some stuff here that reminds me of last season:
– Bobrovsky had an immense falloff in January, to the point where we legit thought that Stolarz was the better goalie. We even thought about starting him in the playoffs instead of Bob. Look how that turned out.
– it was easier to get hit by lightning (no, not the team we hate) than seeing Tkachuk score a goal. He already has 14. He isn't scoring goals right now, but since Barkov isn't scoring goals also, I won't penalize Tkachuk for anything. He is a huge leader and shopping him would land us a bum that probably doesn't have half of Tkachuk's heart and emotion. Chucky went crazy in the playoffs, probably had the most assists of anyone in the entire team. Another huge piece that won us the cup.
– we used to consider putting Stolarz in net to be a "lost game" before the game even started. We did the same with Knight at the beginning of the season and many were considering shopping him thanks to his 4.5M contract. Stolarz went on a heater during the 2nd half of the season and Spencer is apparently on the course to do the same.
– it's going to take another Tarasenko-like player to give us another big boost towards the playoffs. I believe Zito already knows all of the problems that this team has, and I think we can count of him again.
Bottom line, if this team can keep coasting enough to at least make the playoffs, and then turn it up to 11 when it matters the most, I think we are in safe hands. But I won't lie, seeing the absolute crap effort they're laying out there is killing the vibes, and I feel really bad for the people who has to pay hundreds of dollars to see shit effort. The worst that can happen is that we drop to a wildcard spot, because I don't think that they would lose enough games to miss playoffs entirely. I would like to see Adam Boqvist and Tobias Björnfot play a little more together. If they happen to be competent enough, I think we can say goodbye to Schmidt. Schmidt just looks too damn slow out there, kinda like how Okposo was. But at least Okposo knew how to handle the puck better and had better game knowledge than Schmidt.
If I had to choose someone to be traded, I think we can get the most out of Verhaeghe. I don't hate him at all, just think that if we want to be serious cup contenders, we can get the most value out of him. And when I say "trade Verhaeghe for Brady Tkachuk", it's not just because I want to see Brady and Matthew play together. It's because Brady seems much fresher than Verhaeghe when it comes to going to playoffs. I don't see Ottawa going to the playoffs this year. Probably the Wings will take their spot on how good they've been playing recently. If we acquired Brady and went to playoffs with him, maybe the guy gets to unlock his hidden potential and even boost up his older brother while at it.
I was at the game tonight and honestly it is pathetic to watch. I understand they maybe "saving it for the playoffs" but if that was the case you would expect moments of brilliance from some individuals on the team but that is simply not the case. I am honestly concerned this team just does not have what it takes this season. I dont want to go defcon 1 just yet but if this continues after the 4 nations we may be in trouble. Even if we do make moves before the deadline, I dont see how you get this group to snap out of the lack of confidence they have been displaying all season long (looking at Verhaeghe).
It’s clear the cats lost more than they picked up. Honestly , there are only two new pick ups we got that are contributing

Last 10 we're 4-5-1. That's not a record that will even land you in the playoffs. We're losing to bad and mediocre teams, and the games we do win are by the skin of our teeth (e.g. overtime and shootouts). If we do make the playoffs, don't expect a second round with this level of play.
look at Vegas, Tampa, Carolina, Colorado. These teams have been mediocre since X-mas. They’re coasting and gearing up for the playoffs
Our pk has been booty cheeks for a while.
Our biggest issue rn is just depth of our scoring. We can’t rely on people like Jesper to get us 20 goals just to help us win some games against mediocre teams. 23, 9, 42, and 16 need to re-ignite this offense.
You just have too many depth defenseman right now. Need a top 4 guy, I mean you can tell how much this team misses Montour and OEL. There’s just no offense from the back end and I mean you have these guys like kulikov, Schmidt playing too many minutes.

I remember these same complaints about Bob many times before. Those who were complaining ended up sounding really silly. My concerns have always been our blue line and dog vomit effort. Who knew that id also have to worry about the forwards, minus Reino, actually putting the puck in the net.

Had our 30 seconds of fame, the D is terrible, no depth, Bob looks cooked, probably early playoff exit, and by chance we make it back to Finals, we wont, but anyone of the top 4 western conference teams will kick our ass
