The 2023 NHL Draft was filled with surprises and unforgettable moments. Leading the way was Connor Bedard, the clear first overall pick by the Chicago Blackhawks. Bedard lived up to expectations, dominating with 143 points in 57 WHL games and breaking records at the World Juniors. Despite a mid-season jaw injury, he led all NHL rookies with 61 points in 68 games and earned Rookie of the Year honors.

The Detroit Red Wings took steady centerman Nate Danielson ninth, focusing on his leadership and two-way game. Rounding out the top 10, the St. Louis Blues selected Dalibor Dvorsky, a skilled Slovak forward thriving in the AHL.
