The Vancouver Canucks Have a J.T Miller Problem

The J.T Miller situation has gotten even worse! With Coach Rick Tocchet lowering Millers playtime, and Miller showing a lack of care or involvement in the team. Making crucial mistakes that lead to goals!

  1. Last nights game was probably JTs las game and I hate to say it being a huge fan of his but this is unacceptable for the amount of money these guys make to play a GAME

  2. The problem is that you are too blind to see what the real problem is. Trading your #2 player is the dumbest move a team can make! enjoy getting worse without Miller! You're so blinded by bias

  3. I've been saying it for awhile. Its obvious when he was out for 4 weeks and everyone else did fine.

He comes back. Plays one good game, then starts putting up stinkers. Dude forgets to back-check, fore-checks poorly, and then gives up pucks in his distinct "miller way", doesn't amp up the team, fails to create offense.

    Miller + one of Vinny/Soucy/Juulsen + Heinen + a pick or two for Zben + K-Miller.
Or get rid of Tocchet first, see if Miller's play improves. If it doesn't send him to the Rangers.

  4. Lol Have fun not Winning a Stanley cup now Canuks fans, you Vancouver people are so Soft just like Petterson, just look at how Soft Conor Bedsy is!

  5. STOP BLAMING JT!!! Maybe Tocc can take some accountability!! He was a shit coach in phx. You can’t put it all on JT!😡

  6. Oh, please! The problem isn't with JT Miller. The guy has more backbone than half the team. Tocchet is the problem. These constant line changes from one game to the next clearly aren't working, set some effin lines, and let them develop some chemistry as linemates. Pettersson is soft as butter, and from the onset, I believed the contract would come back to haunt the organization. He's 106th in the NHL in points being a top 4 paid player this season. Cut bait and run before his ntc kicks in.

  7. I like Hughes but I don’t think he is a strong captain. Too soft. Should take over the dressing room and call the whole team out with very strong point of view. Just thing what captains like Chara, Messier and Bergeron would say.

  9. Not a Canucks fan or anything but, outside looking in, it seems like JT is a big factor in their struggles. Obviously not all on him, but like you said, the timing of his 10 game departure and Elias' subsequent uptick in scoring is definitely eyebrow-raising. Miller's performance against LA reminds me of Pierre Luc Dubois a bit 🤔

  10. MILLERS first bank pass back to Hronek well MAYBE its more Hroneks fault on going for it, should have laid back or started skating away from it backwards

  11. I don't follow the Canucks that closely but like you mentioned, it's best for both the team and JT if they went their separate ways. It can happen now or in the off-season but the longer they wait, the lower the team's chances of turning things around to become a solid team.

  12. 3 goals on 5 shots??? Demko needs to make a save on one of those at minimum. Also, you’re not winning many games scoring a single goal in the NHL.

  13. The solution to the J.T. Miller problem is to play him and P40 on the same line. They are both great players and need to build some confidence together. Try the Lotto line . What have you got to lose? Miller is an absolute beast of an asset. Pettersen needs to toughen up. Be a professional. Both of them need to grow up. I love P40 when he is playing a 200 foot game. The offensive will come . However, I have questions about why P40 hasn’t gained any weight or strength since his first season. He hasn’t worked on his skating ability and is still too easily moved off the puck. If I was making 11.6 million dollars a year I would be working as hard on my game as possible. Seems like the effort is not there. Is this what is making his teammates pissed off at him? If Miller and P40 could get their act together they could be incredible.

  14. This is pro-Petterson bullshit. JT Miller is not the problem with the Canucks. He's having a slump year for sure, but the problem is way bigger than Miller. The problem is that Canucks have put all their hopes on Elias Petterson, as their leading franchise superstar. They are paying him $3.5 million more than Miller, Hughes, Demko, Boeser and everyone else. Canucks management has made Petterson one of the Top Five Highest Paid players in the NHL — #1 — Matthews, #2 — Mackinnon, #3 — McDavid, #4 — Ovechkin, #5 — Petterson. So why isn't Petterson performing like the other Top Five? So you are saying Miller is now to blame for the fact that Petterson's goals/assists stats totally SUCK? Is it Miller's fault? Do you deny that Petterson totally over-rated and over-paid, and his extremely poor production is hurting the team? Trade Miller and Petterson will still be the same. But all you Petterson fans continue to believe that soon Petey "is going to turn it around". Sorry, but it ain't going to happen.
