They knocked Boudreau as a coach who coaches with no system… Rick Tocchet has a system and he expects his players to stick to it… two coaches with very different styles of coaching, and yet they are getting the same kind of results from the team, a team that can't start a game with some urgency, a team that cannot protect a lead, and a team that has poor special team plays. Looking at Travis Green and how the Senators are doing now, I would even dare say this group of players have not been able to consistently play well for any coaches now… You may have Scottie Bowman, Joel Quenneville, Barry Troz and Pat Quinn all rolled into one and this team may still not perform.
It's the players, and management that constructs this team, that is the problem. Rutherford and Allvin had done some very astute moves, but I think this past off-season's decision to allow Zadorov and Cole to walk without a plan to replace them was a terrible mistake. This team also lacks a veteran who can play the role like that from Tim Hunter, Randy Gregg, and Dave Babych back in the day… when the team is in a funk, it seems like no one knows what to do. There is not a respected veteran voice to guide this group out of it.
Junior hockey and European hockey is different than the nhl. Nhl is where the money is spent. Big boy stuff. Alot more physical game. Swedish players have tons of skill but get crushed in the nhl. They also dont have a tough winning mentality. Its sucks the owners who keep picking Swedish players dont figure this out. Plus this group is team europe. They dont care

I like Rutherford and Allvin but at times they come off like that mechanic who just keeps replacing parts until he finds what's wrong. Then again, if there's a common denominator here going back to Bo Horvat, it's JT Miller. He's been in the thick of this stuff and management chose him over Bo.
Bruce got the royal shaft from Rutherford…What he did is disgusting and now its called Karma…Rutherford is to old and what he did to Bruce again was unreal and Bruce turned the city and team around
