  1. Hutson might be discriminated because of his lack of size for the Calder. He doesn't have the typical 6'2" size of a star defenseman .
Question: Who do you guys think will be a bigger star. Hutson or Demidov?

  2. Lane Hutson will make 48 a cool number
    Its def grown on me
He is the first 48 and on the case

  3. I don't think that age should be a factor. Calder Trophy is for The ROOKIE of the Year, not the best youngest top rookie of the year.

  4. You are overlooking at the fact that Hutson’s numbers already compare with the league’s leading D-men, Hutson is tied at 5th place with Shea Theodore, Celebrini is not putting numbers that place him with the elite just yet.

  5. Omg i dropped him in fantasy bangers league and i got laine..deff thought he slow down. I wouldnt dropped if was non bangers league with all these pt categories

  6. Winning the Calder should not be all about points. Certainly how a player dominates and his complete 200' game should be considered? If the panel use this criteria, IMO Hutson should be frontrunner and he has also been a huge piece to the puzzle in Habs improved play (no idea if this is taken into consideration). Sean suggests age should be a factor. If that is the case then why not take into consideration size?

Looking forward to tomorrow's live podcast Shaun. Not always easy to make the live shows during the week due to the time change however the weekend works.

  7. Lane Hutson is on pace to catch Brian Leetch 71 pts now. Playing in The Meca of Montreal and the pressure on top . To perform . This kid no doubt is winning. Unless they steal it. I don't think Lane will beat Larry Murphys record of 76 pts but the sky is the limit for Hutson. Heck the amount of time the kid plays per night is unbelievable. The trust Montreal has in him ….WOW🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤

  8. Its rookie of the year, not the 18 year old of the year, I do not believe it will matter one iota. I watched Celebrini and he is great. I think carrying the puck is his strength. Hutson however, is unbelievable. The only thing that can keep him from winning it is one player plays in the US and they have a bias towards US players imo or as you say an injury. I know I have a bias toward Montreal, but he is the best rookie I ever seen on the team and I am 57. What a delight we are even having this conversation!

  9. I love Hutson however i will maintain with the habs the best player not a goalie in my life is Markov. Lets not forget Markov was born in the dead puck era

  10. Montreal's future is starting to look like the Montreal team that won 5 straight Stanley Cups from 1955-60. That team was loaded with superstars, Plante, Doug Harvey, Bouchard, Beliveau, the Rocket, Boom Boom Geoffrion and Dickie Moore led by Toe Blake the coach.

The future is so bright for this team.

  11. Age has never factored into who wins the Calder. A 100 point 18 year old Sidney Crosby didn't win, Why would 18 year old Celebrini be expected to win when he isn't even pacing for 70?

  12. what people dont get and specially at the start is Hutson should have way more points with the chances he create. These numbers are only going up. Hutson plays always above 20 minutes and always dominate. Hutson wont slow down a single bit lol

  13. 48 is perfectly fine for Hutson. He's going to make it cool. He's already doing it and it's only gonna get better.

  14. I think what a rookie contributes to the team rankings should factor in Calder considerations. The Habs are where they are due in large part to Hutson's performance.

  15. He’s 18 yo shouldn’t be an argument. You judge the player for what he’s doing, not for how impressed you are because his age.

  16. I still pinch myself we got Hutson. I’m 48, never seen a better Habs prospect in my life. Him and Demidov are real gifts from life, especially for us Habs fans. The lack of drafted talents in the last 30 years is astounding.

  17. It isn't the hardware that matters, what matters is him playing like this accelerates the rebuild exponentially. We've seen it so many times with other teams but we don't give it the importance that we should when it happens with us. He is playing on a level with Hughes and Makar and Bouchard and so many more. These type of players make teams cup contenders, most top 4 team over the last decade has had a D-man playing like this. It is so important that we make the playoffs this year to give this guy and Slaf and Dobes some that experience. Habs should be buyers in case we have lightning in a bottle here.
