Glad that I forgot about the last game until someone reminded me, and then I didn't check on tonight's game until it was 5-1. They're back in 2023 form, and it's sad.
While the players bear the most responsibility for this funk, management and coaches are not without blame. It was Rutherford and Allvin who decided that the team needed middle/bottom six forwards this off-season over defencemen. DeBrusk, Sherwood, and Heinen were signed and Zadorov and Cole were allowed to walk. It seems like only after all the dust settled that the team realized the D core is AHL-calibre after Hughes and Hronek that they brought in Desharnais, Forbort and Branstrom, who are all at best bottom-pairing guys. I think these changes fundamentally changed the team for the worse.
People used to criticize Boudreau for having no systems… but can we also say now that Tocchet's team lacks creativity? The team is consistently outshot by a large margin (Tocchet's Coyotes were like that too), and no one other than Quinn Hughes is weaving around trying to create something. Yes, having a system is important, but it seems like the team is now choking on its collective neck when playing. Everyone appeared trying to get to set place for a set play, and when the other team prevented the players from doing so, no one seemed to know what to do.
I think things went bad when those two assistant coaches left the team.
I know most ppl from Vancouver are gay so i am assuming all this hate and blame on JT is to hide the fact that EP is equally as bad as JT.

Miller has been called out for talking too much and not putting up performances (typical redneck). The last two games have been more examples of that.
Tocchet is now finally being called out for favouritism and also a style that takes you to playoffs BUT may not win a Cup without a specific player type.
As a good coach, you need to adjust the style to the player type as well.
