Vancouver fan here. Sabres are my second favorite team. Id love to see Petey go to the Sabres. They have the best to offer and could benefit from Petey
I respect what you guys do, as far as being Sabres fans and what you deal with… but WHY would Petterson EVER waive his NMC and accept a trade to Buffalo? It 100% will never happen.

You are offering a downward spiraling Cozens and a rental in Byram for Petersson. Byram wants to be the #1 defenseman and he will never be one on a team with Hughes. So all the Canucks will be left with is a third line center for one of the best centers in the game.
Honestly… I would rather have a JT Miller than Petterson. He’s 27, has a knee problem, he’s having a down year, he makes over 11 mil per season for a ton of years, he has a 10 mil bonus this offseason and five 5 mil a year bonuses the following years AND we are talking like Owen Power or Byram are nothing or “finished products” and Cozens who is still very young and I’ve heard perhaps this years 1st rd pick (unprotected) and maybe a prospect? Come on …. If we suck this year… if we aren’t able to make the playoffs on our own… does Elias Petterson alone make us so much better that we turn this around and make the playoffs this year? Idk price is too high for pieces on the YOUNGEST team in the league that could become very good players for us for a decade in Cozens, Byram and Power
Miller interests me, Peterson not so much. Scoring, while important, is not the problem on this team. Defense and puck possession are. Some of that is current players not learning what the s being taught, part of it is in game mindset, I.e. stop panicking with the puck.
Pattersson is too talented of a player for Adam's to trade for. He's looking for the next 4th liner low risk zero reward type of player

Miller think's he is the better player and is not paid the same so he narcs on pete a lot because of that. People are like this, they get like this all the time, makes no difference the age or the scenario. Miller is the better player and much more needed and a no move clause. Pete should go, he would be happier. Dylan Cozens and what? Not power surely? Cause I quit if so.
Mark these words, Cozens is better than Pete, he will have a break out year next year and it will be a point per game and then better. At worst Cozens is as good and he is 3 years younger. Sabres should make the trade it tracks hard with how they manage their club.

As a Vancouver fan, if the Canucks did trade Pettersson, I think adding in Hoglander, and Desharnais wouldn't be a problem. Hoglander gets ragged on by Tocchet way to much. I think that is why he is having a down year. Personally I would like Cousins, and Power, rather than Byram
Tage and Byram for both the Canucks Elias Pettersson's and a first. The second Pettersson is an AHL allstar and a nasty top 4dman probably NHL ready next year. Also the $'s work. You can keep Cozens as your 2C. Nucks fans love Miller and chant his name all the time during games. That probably drives Pettersson bonkers. lol

i've been watching EP40 since he was a teenager and with all due respect, talent wise the sabres don't have anyone on his level. not many teams do. it would take a power/cozens or byrum/cozens type deal to get this done.
Pettersson with his stellar hockey IQ and defensive prowess was a huge part of the Canucks shutout against the Leafs last night. His shot blocking, pass anticipation, deflections and diving to block pass attempts in the trenches made it his best game since returning from his injury. BTW, he also drew 2 penalties and assisted on their first goal.
