the problem isn't knies – the problem is matthews and marner together
when they are playing together, they play their game and not berube's game. look at how hot knies tavares and especially marner were when matthews was injured. i would love to see domi and matthews back together but i doubt we'll ever see that again.

I will die on this hill until the Leafs prove me wrong: they have too many players that want to be “heroes” instead of a team that wins. Their egos get in the way and consistently make them look like a team of lost individuals masquerading as a hockey team. Hate me, tell me I’m an idiot, but I think the team is destined to fail as it is built to be a fanatical team full of wannabe heroes (who I love and have watched for years and years by the way), but I just can’t see them playing together as a true ride or die team.
Go on then, prove me wrong and make it to the conference championship, Toronto. Anything less and you’re a pack of frauds.

You left out the combination of Nylander with Nylander and Nylander.
He doesn’t seem to be able to play with anyone.
Almost like he believes he’s better than the rest.
His east/west skating is making me crazy.
He won’t hit or go anywhere he might get hit, like the corners.
He only has 12 SOG in the last 5 games.
Oh and did we forget he’s -6 in those same 5 games and has a paltry single point.
All this for $11.5M/yr.

Knies is a good replacement for bertuzzi and that line did good last year. I dont see Nrob here anymore which is tough but oh well
I said at the beginning of the year this year is a write off. Leafs are a bit better, but they need to shed the JT and Marner contracts and spend more wisely with the cap to get deeper. The Matthews, Willy, and Reilly contracts are already bad, you don’t need more. The only reason they are where they are in the standings is because of lights out goaltending, you lose that and you see what happens.
Why does every goalie we've had for the past 10 years let in at least 1 questionable goal nearly every game… As good as Woll has been and I think will be, there are numerous times in a game where the puck seemingly becomes invisible and he just stares in the same direction thinking it will magically appear.

Watching this after Tavaras's injury at practice, still no word on his status, but it didn't look good. Unfortunately if he's out for any period, Max Domi is so playing centre for the Leafs, sorry Steve.
Stop this better partner for Reilly. He was given tanev. It didn’t work. They tried OEL which really doesn’t work. At 7 mill.
