  1. I still think Brisbrois should have been the one sent down. If they’re willing to work with Vinnie, then the upside of Brannstrom is much higher then Vinnie or Juulsen.
I honestly don’t understand this move. Must be a Tocchet thing.

  2. I feel sorry thinking there may be another me in a parallel universe who had to deal with Vegas keeping Brannstrom and not trading for Mark Stone.

  3. Kaprizov and faber are skating kaprizov expected to play wednesday. Brodin out for a bit is the latest for the wild, and jiricek left the game early tonight in vegas. I swear theres a curse on the wild, cant play 2 games without an injury

  4. I loved watching eric staal thsn he came fo minney n netted 42 goals yr 1 was incredible.

  5. The amount of people freaking out over Brannstrom amazes me. I’ll bet he clears which should tell you a lot.

  6. It feels like Brannstrom got put on waivers just so Tocchet wouldn't have to hear fans and sports media continually complain about one of the only defencemen to know which end of the stick to hold being a healthy scratch yet again. Unless Team Rutherford has a big trade up their sleeves in the next couple days they really needed to keep their stop-gap puck moving defenceman on hand. I also blame the lower goals per game on Tocchet, who gets restless if his team goes over 20 shots a game.

  7. The league is has definitely been recording shots differently over the last couple years…………………………..

  8. Now 9.4 shots per goal, better than 9.77 last season. I feel like this trend has been of more teams seeking more shot quality relative to mere quantity.

It's interesting because it IS producing more goals per shot, but because it is more difficult to get the better shots, there are fewer shots and thus slightly fewer goals. As much as I can appreciate efficiency, sometimes that doesn't cut it.

  9. Thanks for the video! I don't think the Canucks or Bruins will have waived players picked up. Announcers barely mentioned the car accident and didn't even add the obligatory, "We hope he is fine and returns soon." I took it to mean it was a non-event. Will Panthers miss the depth? More Wood for the Avs! A goalie isn't what the Sens need. Canes lost to the Ducks in OT, so the number retiring ceremony seems to have left them a little off. That's a pretty big drop, like global temps, it doesn't take much to make a huge difference.

  10. Dakota Mermis being picked up by Toronto? Toronto signed him before the season started, lost him on waivers to Utah, then took him back when Utah did the same, allowing Toronto to send him to the AHL without the requirement for waivers!

  11. Mermis was picked up by the leafs because he was already in their system and so they could then send him down the ahl as everyone else passed I believe

  12. I watched Brannstrom in Ottawa for years. He's not an NHL Dman. Yes, he can move the puck, but he doesn't score points, he can't defend very well, and his size is a liability. Since he's not a top player, he'll never be on the PP. For these facts, he'll be a fringe NHL player at best, only playing when others are injured or, more likely, have a good career in the AHL.

  13. The SOG seem to have been over corrected, based upon the games I'm watching. Do we know how they are judging if the shot was on net or not? Are there computer analytics involved? Anyone have more details?

  14. Hard to believe goal per game down when penalties are up 50%. Every game I watch at least 10 penalties per game
