  1. I think that with Rantanen the draft went just like it was supposed to go at the time. He is just one those players that grow better every year until they are like 35-40 years old. He has been topping his own performance almost each year and he is only 28 years old now. Also glad he got a chance to be part of very competitive lineup. Yup, there is McKinnon with him, but Rantanen proved that he doesn't really need him to score and carry. They just make so perfect center-wingman duo in the league it's pleasure to watch.

  2. 34 players were taken ahead of Sebastian Aho and not more than 5-6 are clearly better than him, in what was a VERY good draft

  3. I'm still rather baffled, that the nickname Jaromir Rantanen hasn't really picked off. Because that is what he does, prime Jagr stuff day in day out.

  4. I watched rat play with the San Antonio Rampage, bruh was slapping fire!!!

  5. Watched Mikko win the world juniors and everyone said he was the most ready European player to enter the league. After a year of development in the AHL he was thrown into the fires on a BAD Avs team put up respectable numbers. The rest is history, he shown he can play in any situation or setting good or bad. Great hockey player

  6. With rantanen he walked into an atmosphere that almost guaranteed success, all he had to do was put the work in. Give him credit because he did work very hard, however when you get to play with McKinnon and landeskog, and Duchene, and O'Reilly in their youth and prime and even 2 good coaches it's much easier to develop and succeed than the dumpster fire that is the Sabres or coyotes, or even the devils and a lot of other teams. I've been watching the sharks management and I'm pretty sure Mike Grier is building the same foundation that the avs had in those days. They're gonna be really good in about 3 to 5 years.

  7. It was a privelege to have attended this draft in person in Sunrise. The entire first round is proven NHL players now, and some late round gems . Was a magic year for the NHL

  8. Truly one of the best Drafts ever. Maybe the best.

Besides Provarov and partly Hanafin all others have shown their key value for their teams.
