Two very intriguing names have been floating around the NHL’s trade rumour mill. Those players being Elias Pettersson, and Matthew Barzal. The Winnipeg Jets are in need of an impact player, could they make a move for one of these players?

There would need to be salary included in a Barzal trade. Perfetti, two of Barlow, Lambert, Yager, Lucius, Salomonsson, Appleton or Iafallo (for money) plus pick (s)
I've always liked Barzal, but I'm 50/50 on him. He's got all the skills, but his CAP hit is a bit high for the Jets. The upside is he is still young enough, he's a #1 Center, which is what the Jets need. Having 2 #1 Centers would give the Jets a HUGE upgrade. I would prefer Barzal over Pettersson, etc… I don't see NYI giving up Barzal. Could give up Perfetti, Stan, Heinola, etc.. and picks/prospects, etc. I feel the Jets need to keep adding size, grit, speed type players. Think Andersson, Frederic, Lomberg, etc. Maybe a Package deal from NYI? Barzal and one of Pulock or Dobson for Perfetti and all the Moose guys and some picks?
Barzel + dobson. 1 stop shop.

Always loved the way Barzal plays, imo he's even a better player than Scheifele, just playing for a crap team offense-wise. I just think Barzal would cost a fortune and Chevy ain't paying that
I forgot to include this in the video but the Jets will have roughly $9.7M in cap space on trade deadline day (according to puckpedia) as the season goes on, every team banks cap space as they pay their own players. If the Jets do decide to move Cole Perfetti for either of Barzal or Pettersson, they will not have to trade more on roster assets to make the cap work.
1 problem.. nobody actually wants to play in Winnipeg.
Perfetti is very underwhelming.
Barzal would be 100+ point a season player if he didn't play on the Islanders. He's surrounded by a bunch of old and slow players who don't finish. Give him a chance to paly with a true offensive threat, like Ehlers or Connor, it will be scary what he can do.
Not sure I could see the Jets paying The Barzel or Petterson salary they are hefty. Would be nice to see those players play here. Even a JT MIiller
I believe the jets have a internal cap..8.5 for helle n scheiffle n they won’t go over that till Conner resigns..with Lowry now the official 2c in the new line configuration the jets only need a 3c..perhaps toews..no cost n they could try n hit a home run with a stud partner for morrisey..that might be all that’s necessary for a parade
Id take Barzal over Pettersson i think he would be a 100pt player if wasnt islanders and how Pettersson didnt show up playoffs/can be soft at times. Barzal also carries cap of 9.15m Pettersson 11.6m.
Our window is now or next few years idrc what it takes we should be giving Scheifele/Hellebuyck all support we can rebuild later. If you have to move Lucius,Perfetti,Heinola,Picks,Other prospects do it.
But keep Chibrikov he looked good in Ehlers place.

Id keep Salmonsson,Yager there wouldnt be any room for Lambert anyway his uncle coached islanders 4yrs until this season moving to toronto.
Ep is going to be a no his contract will be a detriment to the Jets being able to resign Volardi or Connor and decimating the youth means it'll be hard to plug the holes that we can't because the contract bars I'll trade more than likely it would be a little bit more fair
I think Barzal would be better so we could trade less and still have an amazing add
