Petterson is collecting a pay check
It would take less than what most people think. Pierre-Luc Dubois was traded to the Los Angeles Kings by the Winnipeg Jets on June 27 for forwards Gabriel Vilardi, Alex Iafallo, and Rasmus Kupari, and a second-round pick in the 2024 NHL Draft. In that trade WPG traded the #3 pick, the best player in the trade… and came out winning the trade!
Unless you'd prefer waiting until you are completely out of the wild card battle… it's up to you.

You’re not getting Barzal and Dobson but more likely is Dobson, Brock Nelson and a 3rd round pick.
We lose any trade involving petey, tochets poor system puts the canucks in a position we cant keep boeser anymore, we should be shopping the shit out of him actively. if either petersson or hogie leave they will be performers where ever they go. the system has broken the player, not the other way around
Tochett's system destroyed Podkolzin and now look at him flourish in Edmonton. When we first saw Podkolzin in his first year he was dynamite and looked like we found a gem. As Tochett came in he did not like him and sent him lower in the line up instead of playing him with elite players. You draft him at 10th overall and play him on the 4th line. What planet are we living in people. Tochett destroyed his confidence and I'm happy to see Podkolzin shine in Edmonton. Canucks need to figure out how to use their players more efficiently.
As a canuck fan Petey for Nelson and Dobson I'd do that in a heart beat.

Please! We need a young scorer and Petterson is that scorer.
Vancouver is not a Cup contender this year so the logical move is to try to get a dman for Miller and or Boeser and build for next year and the years to come.
Tocchet, although i like him, might not be a very good fit with the kind of team the Canucks are, or have the potential to be.
Talent dont seem to thrive under him….its win now, no patience, no building confidence…
With that said, part of me would wish for EP to get out of there and find a nicer place with fans that actually appreciate his talent and supports him…cause its not been pretty the last half year.
Dream destination for me with him is Minnesota, seems like a good club, down to earth….imagine him and Kaprizov on the same line…
Trade Elias is a bad idea, Miller is a different situation, what returns? Picks? That would be the best.

According to Gil, Barzal is a highly skilled player that can hold onto the puck a little too long instead of taking the shot. Sounds like the perfect Tocchet guy
How bout trading Miller for Horvat…. It's obvious who the cancer is in the locker room. Just stating the facts.
If you trade petey away you might as well start rebuilding and scouting the right players for this team.
The Islanders are not a fit for a Pettersson trade. Dobson will be a #3 at best. Nelson is old. Barzal is not a proper #2C.

Lots of trade rumours around the canucks. We should be trading Demko while he is still worth something. One more major injury which is inevitable will make him worthless. Unfortunate for such a fantastic player. Now is the time.
