I’m a Canucks fan and I’ve recently started watching you guys. Fairly unbiased and smart hockey talk. Like it.
If EP gets traded, Canucks are going to retain a good amount or take back bad cap. EP is vastly overpaid, the 5th highest paid player in the league, for his production. Even Miller at 8m has slipped this season. Is he worth his 8m?
You guys proved Darren wrong without focusing on it… The Dubois trade is the perfect example, unless you think anybody in the package is a better hockey player than dubois (when he plays well) Dubois was the best player in that trade, wpg won that trade while bringing the best player in the trade.
just saying… you can trade Pettersson and win the trade. missing out on Necas was the biggest mistake Allvin has ever made besides signing Pettersson to that outrageous salary

Miller is safe from going to Calgary at least but wouldn't fit anyway… too many FLAKES!! It would teach Pettersson a lesson and he would FIT!!!

Its not like the Nucks are contenders this year. Their blue line is simply not up to the task…so why trade your star player that you just signed…
No, the only logical choice is to try and get a dman for Miller and build for next year and the years beyond that.
But if one can dream, i would wish to see EP end up in Minnesota playing with Kaprizov….that would be something for hockey lovers

No trade coming. The management is to inept to do anything. They will hold on way to long, resign a broken sub par Demko and let Lankinen walk. Hughes will become frustrated next season and ask for a trade, EP40 will get worse until he returns to Sweeden and plays for MODO. Boeser will ask to go to the Wild in a package deal with Lekkerimaki for draft pics. Miller will get hurt from being played to much and eventually traded to NYR for far below market value and picks. Myers will become our number 1 D-man as Hronek will also fall off after Hughes leaves. Then well be informed were enterimg a rebuild around DeBrusk and Willander ( who gets hurt from being over played like Huges ) lol. Tochett will still be the coach making the same sad excuses why his team wont play for him, and Juulsen will be named captain lol.

Is it safe to say that a miller trade is more strategic because its a harder one to botch than a petey trade; the kid obviously has two more gears and room to grow yet, where as miller is the player he is, this is his peak. I guess the other notion is that petey has had only one issue with one guy in the room where as miller had issues with horvat as well.
Tocchet has done a masterful job?? His conservative, ineffective structured hockey is at the root of all their problems! The forwards strand their defence – there’s no puck support anywhere on the ice, they’re horrible away from the puck, they don’t actually check anyone, they don’t compete for lose pucks because they’re stuck standing in designated spots on the ice and as result they have no transition and flow to their game. The players are now frustrated and have lost confidence in the system, they’re in scoring slumps and then the focus is heaped on two guys who don’t get along because the blame has to be on the put on someone. Tocchet’s coaching record is 4 out 6 losing seasons before Vancouver. Darren is a great hockey insider – he’s not a coach!
