Any decent coach in hockey KNOWS that line balance is key. Not sure why it took injuries for Arnie to put Ehlers, Lowery and Iafallo together. It's the perfect line balance. You have a playmaking goal scoring winger with speed, a Big Strong Beast of a Center to go net front, back and forth up the middle who can protect his line mates and you have the grinder with a great stick who can do it all. Again, sad it took an NHL coach injuries to try this, but it worked. Because it made sense. Arnie needs to leave that.
Also.. SLAMBERG!!!! He's Back baby and in beast mode. Missed 21 games with a broken foot, gets retrofitted for a new skate with protection and what does he do… Minutes leader for 2 games. He's SOOOOOOOOO important to the Jets.
Need to go with Fleury and Coghlan as the 3rd D pairing.
Elhers – Lowry – Iafallo make a very interesting line. Size and speed could the lethal. It is great seeing the injured D close to returning. Once they get them back the Jets could be set for another run of wins.
Theres been a lot of conversation about getting a 2c or a blueliner, but I think getting a decent backup goalie and replacing Comrie sooner then later isn't being discussed enough. We need a guy who can take some of the load off Helly leading up to the playoffs. I'ts not gonna do us any good if he's butntout. He's already getting extra games playing for the US at the 4 Nations Cup.
