The canucks stand to lose in any trade. I wouldn't want a locker room cancer who don't play defence or a 11 mill ntc contract on a player that's struggling with injuries unless I would get it for pocket change. Especially as it is the big talk in the league of how bad and how desperate the canucks team is.
If I were in the canucks shoes and there was indeed a conflict, I'd put some effort into making it work instead. If they need any trade it's for a solid blueliner. That might cost them the season but there will be more of those, no need to ruin a decade for short term gains.
There is an easy solution. Miller shuts the eff up AND EP40 gets 50% of all 1st line time. You cannot drive a Ferrari like a Fiat and this is what Tocchet is doing with EP40.

Yeah, Trade the guy who wants to win at all costs and not the guy who just wants to come to work and do the bare minimum and go home. This kid is hilarious.
Petterson needs to go! This guy was playing like a child during the playoffs couldn’t stay on his feet! It was embarrassing to watch. How are we forgetting this. He’s just not a playoff guy. I can’t imagine trying to make a playoff run with Pete and not Miller. Think about it we would get run over!
Ill take a shot at it. To get Elias Peterson it would take Axel Sandin Pellikka, Nate Danielson, Michael Rasmussan, and 2 Firsts.

Petey is softer then cupboard butter. He can't score unless wide open or gets a bounce. Can't beat anyone one on one. Can't win a single puck battle. When you get paid the most money on the team you need to drive the offense. Miller is x10 better.

The only time all season E.P was actually consistantly producing this season was when Miller was out. This team can't seem to score in general. I don't see how they should even be expected to with 2 struggling better then average players and then who up front? Jake Debrusk, Garland, Hoglander, Suter? This is not shocking at all. I can't even believe how many people actually thought they would win the division again.
Step 1: Miller to NY.
Step 2: Fire Tocchet .
Step 3: Trade Pettersson .
In return 1C and 2D and build a TEAM with speed, skill and hearth.
Petterson must Go out and Miller have to stay
He's getting paid to do f all he's literally public skating during games he's a soft Georgia peach van needs to man up and start getting some Rick Tochet style players

No trade is likely, the trade pieces just don't exist to make it possible. Boeser is much more likely. Petey and Milsy is just noise that don't mean anything.
