Flyers fans waited over a YEAR for this moment..

Drafted 5th overall by the Flyers in the 2022 NHL Draft, Cutter Gauthier was once seen as a cornerstone of the Philadelphia Flyers rebuilding efforts. However, in the spring of 2023, after returning from the World Championships, Gauthier informed Flyers GM Danny Brière that he would not be signing with the team. This announcement put an end to his time with the organization before it had truly begun.

On January 8, 2024, Gauthier was traded to the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for defenseman Jamie Drysdale. The move gave the Flyers a young, skilled blueliner while providing Gauthier a fresh start with a team eager to integrate him into their plans.

Last night, Gauthier made his first appearance in Philadelphia, and was met with boos and taunts from the Flyers faithful. The Flyers, seemingly fueled by the home crowd, delivered a dominant performance. Travis Konecny led the charge with a four-point night, while Jamie Drysdale, in a twist of irony, had a two-point performance against his former team. Felix Sandström’s standout performance between the pipes was instrumental, but it was Samuel Ersson who sealed the shutout for the Flyers, showcasing their depth in goal.

The Ducks struggled to generate offense against the Flyers’ stifling defense, with Gauthier unable to make a significant impact. Despite the hostile reception and tough loss, Gauthier’s return highlighted the lingering emotions surrounding his departure from Philadelphia.

For the Flyers, the victory was a strong statement of progress as they continue their rebuild. For Gauthier, it marked another step in his journey with the Ducks, albeit a challenging one.

  1. Thank you to everyone who has subscribed to the channel, liked my videos, and left feedback ! 🙂

Were you able to catch this game last night? Let me know your thoughts! I had a blast watching this one.

  2. With cutter, i wonder if someone in his family was assaulted, and with Carter hart on the team and the 2018 world juniors allegations. Maybe he just didn’t want to play here, (flyers fan). And if this is the reason, i do understand the reasoning, i mean lindros didn’t want to play in Quebec cause of something (i believe) similar to that,

  3. I honestly really like your style of videos, the commentary without really anything extra is really nice

  4. I was at this game. Anytime Cutter did anything he was booed. The guy literally couldn’t touch the puck without hearing boos rain on him. My favorite part was when they showed the “check of the game”, it was cutter getting shoved into the boards.

  5. Just found your channel: i like your comments, as you seem to understand the game! Flyers fan forever!

  6. It felt like a playoff game wire to wire. I think two young teams benefited from that type of atmosphere

  7. The reason Torts was screaming was because Nick Seeler got hurt during the icing and went down the tunnel so the refs were trying to get him back onto the ice without realizing he went down the tunnel

  8. Fan bases and organizations that obsess and focus on booing former players are never going to build winning cultures. Philly is headed down the road of becoming the next NYI.

  9. Cronin is just fine. Yes, this take constitutes a very small minority of the Ducks fanbase. Fair that fans attribute Ducks recent wins to the best goaltending 2 in the league, DostWal and Gibson, and several skaters that put us over the top with finesse goals.

  10. Honestly best hockey fans in America. One day when we have an Elite team again no one will want to come play in our building. All the hate I see calling us classless is jealous fans that just wish they could be apart of the Philly sports community we have. No one has more passion than us.

  11. the Flyers are a great hockey team, a great venue, great fans, best mascot Gritty, the sexy Ice Girls and dancers, wish I lived in Philly, I'd go more often…hey cutter, you blew it dude, haha.

  12. Id like to thank Quitter for showing himself the door. Saved us a lot of heart break in the years ahead.

  13. I would choose to live in Anaheim over Philadelphia, too. Watch the game and it is obvious why.

  14. I’m not one to subscribe to any content creator, you did a great job so I subscribed to help out. Look forward to seeing more vids
