I was in the RBC Center when he scored with 3 seconds left against the devils game 2 round 2 of the 2006 playoffs, he deserves this and to be in the Hockey Hall Of Fame

Congratulations Eric Staal on an incredible career and for being inducted into the CHoF! Being an a west conference fan I don’t remember him as much as many fans do, but he was still just one of those names that always stuck out, in highlights and in EANHL games.
Congrats on your jersey retirement! I used to wear a jersey shirt to school and it was #12, Eric Staal. People all the time would ask me who he was, there weren't many hockey fans at my school in NC, lol. Nevertheless, thank you for your efforts and enjoy your retirement, Eric!

Staal is loved in Carolina. To cap it off will be the hall of fame and he will definitely make it. The cup win and longevity and contributions to hockey and his community all are factors. The staals are good ol canadian boys and humbling men. Canada is proud!
