ugh, Oleksiak you can't be doing that. I think Oleksiak has been great so far, but in all honesty, he needs to be disciplined for this. It's a headshot, no questions asked. It is far from the worst headshots, but it's not like that was a clean hit either.
Cmon man. Not a good hit. I'm not a fan of disciplining unless the injury is severe or clear intent or both. But call friggin penalties. If guys get away with this then in the playoffs when emotions are high they're gonna come up to hit someone and not think the at they're hitting is dangerous.
Full screen pause at 0:28 it's not to the head. VandeVelde kissed the back of his shoulder which means it missed and went by. Oleksiak went at a Snails pace so the ones crying intent are bias fans, he was looking to do a clean hit but with his size people will always question everything he does.
Heads up, Don't duck. Coaches have been telling players to play heads up hockey for years. Not only is it easier to make passes or score a goal when you can see what is going on, but playing with your head up is very important to player safety. Players that are aware of their surroundings, including an opponent coming to deliver a body check are less likely to suffer injuries. Taking a check: Keep your head out of it. Skates parallel to the boards if you're near them, knees bent, low center of gravity. Skate through the check and get away quickly.Keep your head up.Keep your head up.

Always keep your head up.
Almost looks like the same hit that ended Savard's career.

That has to be a suspension….
Is it cause vandevelde banged penny?
headshot, and should be disciplined, but it's pretty difficult to avoid if you're 6'7
he was on a mission to get his head. also roussell at the end of the game was hacking at all flyers players. dirty as hell.
No head contact though…?
Terrible hit

Dirty hit should be suspended 1 game.
This gets a hearing but Hall's hit on Larsen doesn't? Are you joking?
Lindy Ruff was probably going to scratch him the next two games anyway so his suspension won't even matter.
2 games. finalized.
lmao the guy he hit kinda put on a little bit of a show
and he's suspended 2 games

this idiot ass announcer "he's tall so he's allowed to hit others in the head" i'd rather hear nothing than hear this idiot
The Flyers and Eagles always absorb hits that don't get called appropriately on the ice or field but result in league suspensions after the fact
