Marchand on the rumors regarding the Boston Bruins locker room…

  1. Where's the rule that you have to like your coworkers? As long as you're professional about it who cares?

  2. If your out there like Marchand licking guys faces and trying to slew foot guys that's embarrassing.
    People don't like it Brad

  3. I'm embarrassed that I commented on WEEI's YT channel because I trusted the story. I've since deleted my comment, unsubscribed and told YT to no longer recommend them in my feed.

  4. They have the goaltending. They just don't have the defense, rn. Hapus Lindholm has been out since November and is our best defenseman. Once he comes back, Swayman's numbers w😅be back to where they're supposed to be. He has been standing on his head and the sloppy passes and miscommunications are killing this team

  5. The dressing room of any team on the struggle bus will have dudes loudly expressing negative emotions. Putting those emotions into words is literally how we resolve problems. We might start at 'FU donkey, I hate you, suck less' but we get to the next practice and try to improve.

Players are motivated to win, reporters are motivated to get clicks. I'm amazed Brad gives any of his time to this. Just feeding the trolls.

  6. Media ethics are mostly non existent these days, obviously. Trash reporting and fake news are OK. Good for Brad for speaking out. On the other hand, as someone said below , I feel no pity for him. He's done his own dirty work and talked enough crap in his career to fill a book. He's injured players seriouslely more than once with cheap shots. And been suspended for it multiple times. Brad the kisser. So, shut up , Brad. Take your owm medicine and stop whinging.

  7. Remember when they turned on Tukka Rask for opting out of the playoffs to care for his sick daughter in the middle of the pandemic?
The Boston media tore him to shreds, called him a quitter and a dissapointment to the franchise and his teammates.

This shit is nothing new from Boston media.
They find the tinniest flaw in your character and crucify you for it.

  8. There is money being bet on all facets of these sports entertainment matches. Don't the bettors deserve to know what the background situation is? What if a few do, but not the rest? Howzabout full disclosure? Obviously, there is little to no (effective) communication on the ice. So what are the chances that it begins in the locker room? These business units aka teams are quite the posh lot. And don't criticise them for anything because…they get a huge cut of the overall revenues that the fanatics send in. When their slant is simply take the money and control the rhetoric, the whole she-bang makes it all so low vibe. Aside from all that, one quick fix is to change the channel. Watching other games is like…bumping up a level compared to this lot. They didn't even show up for camp in shape. And they all want more…for less.Look away! 🤑

  9. I'm not saying he's lying; I have no idea. I am surprised that so many people are assuming that Marchand is telling the truth here. And honestly, if you really wanted to refute the report, shouldn't Pasta be the one in front of the microphones? Wouldn't that make more sense?

  10. I didn't hear the story but the B's are not playing well and won't make the playoffs if it keeps up like this. The fact that they have played more games then the teams right behind them means as the numbers catch up those teams will also pass the B's up in the standings. Tampa just passed them and still have 5 games in hand. Ottawa has I think 4 games in hand and so on for some other teams.

  11. That reporter is a dipshit.

If I accuse him of being a kid toucher, and he responds with "no I'm not," by his own logic, he is indeed a kid toucher.

  12. Hammonds Plains is literally inside the Halifax Regional Municipality (greater Halifax) so it isnt just "close enough".
Hes from Halifax. Same exact thing goes for both Crosby and Mackinnon.

  13. Player A : we get along fine. No issues.
Player B : no problem, we get along fine.
Captain : everything is fine. We're a family on here. Sometimes families argue, but everything is good.
Coaches : sometimes practice gets intense, we like to practice hard, and sometimes things will flare up if drills get heated and physical. No big deal, every team deals with it. Look, they are driven, competitive guys, but at the end of the day we are all fighting for a common goal.
Management : no, we are not looking to trade anyone. Of course we will listen if teams make an offer, but we are not looking to trade anyone.
Media : MASSIVE FEUD TEARS APART LOCKER ROOM. PLAYERS HATE EACH OTHER. MANAGEMENT SAYS EVERYONE IS ON THE TRADE BLOCK!!!!

  14. You know what I'm sick of , is how million dollar players constantly whine about the media making up lies about them ! Maybe they should try coming up with a way to win some games instead of whining about things you can't control. Marchant showing everyone what a sore loser he is.

  15. Boston is in the Top 3 most hateable franchises (along w the NYR and Leafs)

I like Nylander, Marner, Matthews and Knies but JT is a worm and watching Leafs fan implode every year is part of loving hockey

Boston is simply unlikeable. Marchand became 1% more likeable this season but still a rat

  16. The bottom line is the media is TRYING to make the NHL relevant, but the product is a milquetoast and bland soap-opera for a very small band of cultists, with very little appeal to “normal” people who enjoy logic and sanity.

Get better officiating, cut out the sociopathic violence and hope and pray that a player with personality grabs people’s attention.

The media is desperately trying to prop up this empty shell of a league.

  17. this isn't normal reporting for Boston. Reporters here don't make claims like this unless there's some legitimacy. Especially for someone at WEEI, who traditionally tow the line

  18. Fans are sick of the media because of guys like you. Hear me out, though. Traditional media in sports biggest problem right now is that they get their asses handed to them by podcasters. Especially the trads working in print and radio. They cant compete without adding the salacious bullshit. So they do dumb shit like exposing private medical stuff, pry into their personal lives and just make up nonsense to stir the pot. Now i think youre starting to see the players following the fans lead on this, and wanting less and less to deal with traditional media tropes. Everyone tries to paint the toronto media as the only toxic one in existence but thats simply not true. The media in the other 6 canadian cities are just as brutal, theyre just in smaller numbers. Same goes for the media in boston, philly and new york. Theres a few others too. The more the fans and players turn away from their crap, the more bold they will get in trying to stay relevant.

  19. "Were you relieved to hear Newsie say your injury wasn't hip related?"
-An actual question asked to Patrick Kane last season, as if Newsie would know before Kane and he would tell the press first.

  20. The Blues are grateful that you guys fired Montgomery. Thank you. We're looking forward to a fantastic second half run. 2019 on repeat, baby.

  21. Marchand posted a bunch of pictures of him and Pasta on Instagram and the caption says "Wolves don't lose sleep over the opinions of sheep!" lmao

  22. Uhh. This is getting to be a trend after the Petterson-Miller drama started. I can imagine specially a team that is used to success will have some harsh words when they are losing but hey… You are a paid athlete, you are supposed to hate losing so no wonder some tensions come up. This one, I pay no mind to it.

  23. The key components of journalism has long been shifted from being timely, accurate and objective into writing whatever you want as long as it gets clicked and makes people angry.

  24. There are few times I will agree with Marchand about anything, that clip in the beginning is one of those things that falls into that category.

People start rumors for likes, clicks, views, etc…, and Pro Athletes as a whole, not just NHLers are getting pretty sick of the media, I'm sure Marchand isn't the first to sound off like that, nor will he be the last. Often enough, whatever league they're in slaps them with some sort of fine as a result.

  25. As an oilers fan it's getting evident with them too, there's one guy on the reporters that asks stupid stuff Spec is his name or nickname, they clearly look annoyed by the things they get asked, but this making stuff up like this isn't good

  26. The B's struggles this year are a combination of many things. Offence took a step back, FA signings have not planned out, Swayman in a starter role is not elite, D is weaker, Pasta having an off year.. They were due a step back, but this is more than that. The coach was clearly not the problem. Sweeney is ultimately responsible and should be taking ownership of the issues, and ultimately losing his job.

  27. In Nova Scotia, everything is either in Halifax, or an hour outside of Halifax!
    – Friend of mine, from Nova Scotia.

On a more serious note, Marchand is right. Reporters have no right to spread unhealthy rumours about teams.
