It's Lane Hutson's world folks, and we're just living in it. What are YOUR thoughts on Hutson's rookie season so far? And where would YOU put him in this Calder race?? #GravGang
Lane Hutson is a great playmaker! Great addition!
Scott Wheeler gives a stat showing Hutson’s excellent percentage of 5 on 5 dominance, and Walter’s Ringer @civilizedhuman questions the next Calder winner’s defensive aptitude.
I guess math isn’t one of Walter’s (leaf fan?) strong points.
New month, new pick for Calder! 😂
All we hear is "Michkov/Celebrini" but yeah, this guy is unreal. And picked at #62? He has a very real shot to win the Calder.
Habs fans you could of had Lane Hutson, Ivan Demidov and Logan Cooley on a Line
you are the first one to speak about him how he was soo good for us
Imagine where the Habs would be if they didnt waste their first round pick last year, and went with michkov, or Ryan Leonard! Dont say Michkov wouldnt have played there, he would have played where ever he was drafted, he had enough of the KHL, there's no chance he was going back there. I thought for sure we were gonna take Leonard, and i was happy with that, i really wanted Michkov, but I would have been happy with Leonard. I know some of u will still argue and say that reinbacher is still going to be a solid Dman, and a huge part of the team, time will tell. Look at the development he is missing, and has already missed, and he's out from a regular check, nothing dirty, nothing really hard, just a regular check that u would get hit with 10 times a game. Id love to be proven wrong, but i cant see it.
the Habs should have recruited Cole Hutson also,
wait till you see him in the NHL, so far he has beat all Lane Hutson records
Ive been a Habs fan for a LONG time, im 50, and can remember sitting on my old man's knee, with his old man, and watching the Habs on their little black and white TV (probably in 1978-1979), and Ive been a fan ever since, it's been a LONG time since ive been this stoked about the power play, (when Laine was ripping all those pp goals), that's the first time i have been excited about the powerplay in…I honestly can't remember, the 90's maybe? Then of course, Laine gets "sick" which i dont believe for a minute, so much for transparency!! lol. Oh well, whatever is wrong, hopefully it gets fixed and he comes back the same way he was playing when he was healthy, the last few weeks. It's nice to have something to actually look forward to, I just want to have a good team again! Please!! Go Habs Go!!!
He won’t win the Calder , celebrini and michkov played way less minutes or game and they’ll end up getting way more points at the end of the season , people that votes for these awards like the obvious choice and they like forewards and as an habs fans I refuse to be bias and sounding like a leafs fan
Having said that , this time i don’t see how anyone could beat Hutson to the Calder , he plays a lot of minutes , he transformed the transition game in Montreal as a 5’7 and 160 lbs defenseman , which is a way harder position than being a forwards , he took that team from the bottom to a playoffs spot
Right now , Hutson is the most valuable rookie to his team and leads rookies in points, so I’m not bias , he’s just the best so far
his brother will be awesome for WSH
Cole Hutson in 2 years
Little guys always get exposed in the playoffs. Quinn Hughes was exposed last playoffs once the bigger guys get going they take it right to them. And the bigger guys always prevail.
Hutson is the GOAT, THE GOAT!
It's definitely worth mentioning Andrei Markov if you're discussing offensive defencemen for the Habs. He was more of a playmaker than Subban, but a great all 'round player. I hope the Habs retire his number some day.
The guy on the Hab's draft staff who fought for Hutson should get a big bonus, nailed this one.
Fans from around the league are saying he's a gem. He sure is fun to watch!
You’re the first content creator acknowledge how good Hutson has been defensively especially how much he’s improved in the past couple months. Good job on giving him his flowers
I thought his size might hinder his play but I didn't realize how unpredictable his skating and play are. You can't commit to hitting him because he probably won't be there.
That Walters Ringer type of person doesn't get it and prove there are too much old farts still around this sports. There was no where near this type of defence man 15 years ago, they are like quarter back and if he makes 100 points this a 100 points where the opponent can't do a single point. It is also known that this position takes a little while to adapt but as an offensive quarterback we can't define Hutson as a D and you really don't want to make him too much of a D. That guy will maybe get the calder but will surely get some Norris, Hart, Smythe and Cup.
That WALTERS RINGER comment. LoOlL
First we seen Lane Hutson as the best player in the rookie game so he gets invited to camp. Does so well in camp/exhibition when there's talk of who would be sent to Laval, Hutson was not of that conversation. Slowly but surely, he has become the best player on the team. I think the Habs are about to pop!
Looks like Peter Svoboda
The kid could go all the way!
I know the main thing people say is sure he's great offensively but he's horrible defensively but recently he's been very good defensively
Thank you for all of your videos.. one of or the best NHL youtubers out there .. much respect ..
He is good but likely no Calder, that’s probably Celebrini and if not Michkov
He's proving that Habs fans might actually be more annoying than Leafs fans.
He’s the #1 talent in that draft lol
Last year, Mathesson had 60 pts. He was the PP QB. Hutson has already replaced him as the 1st PP QB as a 20-year-old rookie. That shows how much confidence the team and players have in him. As for defensively, he got caught a few times but not any more than Mathesson a veteran gets caught, maybe even less.
He’s the legit 1st overall from the 2022 draft year. Sneaky habs pick but even they made selection errors before finally selecting him. Sometimes it takes luck.
size does NOT matter.
Celebrini 12 less games played and has more goals and is 2 and a half years younger.
The last four Norris winners have been under the magical 6’. Duck’s Zellweger getting the same doubts, like ever mistake is attributed to not being 6’.
BTW, he’s already much better than AVERAGE. If you can’t see that, I don’t know what you are looking at… Try getting a puck pass his stick on the boards. If he’s anywhere near a puck battle, he’s coming out of that scrum with it 90% of the time, or getting it to a teammate. He’s practically always in the best possible position to help, cut a pass, or be in an opposing guys way… He knows he won’t win physical battles so he uses whatever the opponent does against him. Open your eyes people; he’s already great. The only bad thing was, he got caught pinching in on offense a lot earlier in the season, but it seems his teammates are more of aware of that now and help out all the time. He’s also more picky as to when to do that.
So why is he not an offensive player? I’m always curious about that. Some with Makar
Is a Quinn Hughes type?
His brother is going to benefit greatly from Lane’s success. Also he dominated the junior championships too lol. He should be in the top ten.
Also his defensive side is underrated, he use his poise and positioning cleverly to shut down opposition
montreal had petry who i can assure you was a better d-man …but he requested a trade for personal reasons
Hutson is modest, team player thats the Difference with PK
His teammates love him
Hutson has been getting penalty kill time as well which is a huge trust upwards for him. Would like to see him on a breakaway or a shootout.
Celebrini is leading in points per game has 2 less points and has played 9 less games
Mr. Lane Hutson is showing everyone than size doesn't matter ..!! His hockey I.Q. and his VISION are far superior to most rookies to ever enter this league ..!! His execution and skating ability are improving as he adjusts to the speed of NHL caliber play . He is THE Real Deal …!!😂😊😅
Feel good stat for habs fans: Lane Hutson has 19 points in his last 19 games since november 27th. Will he keep on that point per game pace until the end of the season and end up with as much as 70 points?
Wait and see what happens in a playofg series before we jump to superstar status
The player that have the most style of play comparaison with Lane Hutson is Pavel Datsyuk, look all the highlights of Makar and Hughes or any other players and look at Datsyuk highlights and in term of pure style of play Lane Hutson is derectly comparable to Pavel Datsyuk more than anybodyelse, he only need to find the back of the net more often.
