Not a big loss right now. Kaliyev needed a fresh start. Kings tried to hold out moving him for as long as possible and had he cleared waivers they would've continued to work on bringing him back to the NHL.
Kings are fighting for tops in the league. They currently sit 6th in the standings and have a 2nd half to look forward to with DD coming back and not spending an entire first quarter setting up a new system.
They really didn't have tge room for Kaliyev. Even if he was coming back fully healthy…which he is not.

Good show, Eddie. I had to tune in to complete the loss of Arthur Kaliyev…like losing Alexander Frolov all over again (just a name from our distant past). Only he ended up playing in his mother russia-good riddens. So, Kaliyev wanted out…and he's out. Byebye…Meanwhile, the team is squeaking out close wins-a good thing for a mediocre team. Now the fear is their egos. Suddenly winning games could see them taking their foot off the gas pedal. AND, this time of year has traditionally been the point where the Kings begin falling in the standings. With that in mind, I no longer pull for the golden Knights. No more sympathy for the new guys. They've been around long enough for us to hate them! And that includes one of the "mcbadd boys I felt we were blessed to get rid of so long ago! It's rather pathetic how many guys seem to improve…after we are rid of them. Oh ya, I do keep track of DuBois and pity his ego as he is getting far better press than his stats would call for, He's overpaid by at least double and killing the CAP wherever he goes…good riddens…reminds me of roenick and carter when they stopped in L.A.-apparently looking to make contacts with radio/tv/film industry (roenick showed up 20lbs. overweight!). It still feels like a miracle that we have a team working so hard/doing so well right now. Just listen to the coaches of the losing teams as they rationalize how they lost to us? <lol> Will any Kings fan ever forget the blasphemy spewing from the lips of poor frenchy loser, Peter DeBoer? I wanted to cram his "puck luck" where the sun didn't shine. He always had an excuse for why his rangers lost to us!

Now if someone would only claim Fíala.. not understanding how this guy keeps getting so much ice time, he’s a turnover machine and is great at missing the net on the power play..
