  1. Team grade B for me, but what we fans feel they are is a D. 😅. I'll be the adam boqvist fan guy. 5 foot 11 and 180 lbs not horrible size, but definitely more finesse than a thumper, that is the trade off for his speed he's probably the 2nd fastest guy on the team behind mackie. And I may be wrong but Adam and meeksy would be a good 2nd pair??? That way kuli and Schmidt can alternate playing and be fresher at the end of the year and 3rd pair with balinskis. The only real difference this year vs last is they aren't being called dirty cats without cousins and lomberg they definitely don't thump as much as they did. Biggest thing they need to do is save some health for when it matters. Go Cats

  2. Half way through the season, as a LEAFS fan. Panthers have used up contracts and the long timers have a cup. Its been a great run for the last 3 years. Thats a great accomplishment but in todays NHL a 3 year run is really good. The leafs have learned from past mistakes and the Goalie depth is world class

  3. Ekblad is a funny story. When he was drafted, he was known as the "Chris Pronger-style defenseman" that everyone wanted. Now, after years of injuries, he's anything BUT. Ekblad can be a very good defenseman sometimes (AKA Stanley Cup finals, robbing the shit out of Draisaitl and McDavid), he still has rare shines of the 1st overall pick he was, but his contract is YIKES. For someone whose scoring has dried up a lot (he scored twice during December) and is constantly in trouble, requiring his defensive partner to save his ass, he's not worth the 7.5M. At best, at BEST, 4.5M. I believe he will retire as a Panther, but he must be aware that the team will NOT give him any more money, and if he still wants to be relevant, he will remain on the team. Lowballing him by giving him way fewer dollars than adequate is also not the solution, because that kills the player's will to play, and he wouldn't care more or less for the game or for a comeback win.

I'd give him a C for effort, B+ for the abilities he still has and an overall C+, considering how dumb his mistakes are.
