Correction: I had no idea that they actually changed the tripping rule, ten years ago. Thank you @tommasobey8003 for kindly correcting me on that. Hopefully the refs in my beer leagues here in Canada read up on that as well.

the coyle penalty isnt a non penalty, they changed that rule a while ago, even if you make contact with the puck first, tripping is still tripping
You may consider peeke having a collar bone fracture or break from that angle and how he was hit a little high.

It's still a penalty if you take the guy down in the process of stick checking the puck. This rule was adjusted many years ago. Your take on the check is a lot of guesswork
