In the latest episode of Locked On Capitals, the host recaps the Washington Capitals’ exhilarating 7-4 victory over the New York Rangers, highlighting Alex Ovechkin’s remarkable performance as he scored the game-winning goal and pushed closer to Wayne Gretzky’s all-time scoring record. The team showed strong momentum, with Dylan Strome and Connor McMichael also contributing significantly to the win, including a power play that has been effective in recent games. Despite a rocky start, goalie Logan Thompson rebounded well, and the Capitals continue to lead the Eastern Conference with impressive teamwork and offensive contributions from both the forwards and defense. As they prepare for upcoming challenges, the focus shifts to maintaining this high level of play.

Time to tell the goalies that Christmas is over. No more gifts.
Why shouldn't Ovi be killing it at age 39? Fantastic athletes do that. Ted Williams hit .388 at age 38. And Ovi has fantastic bloodlines. His mom, Tatyana Ovechkina, won Olympic Gold with the USSR Women's Basketball teams in 1976 and 1980.
It's been quiet, but he's been moving up another list. He is currently number 12 for all time NHL points with 1580. Number 11 is Phil Esposito at 1590. If Sidney Crosby stays healthy, I don't think Ovi will catch him at number 10 with 1638 points. However, Ovi does have a chance to catch current number 9 Joe Sakic at 1641 points. At career end, that would put him top ten in goals and points. But enough of this. Just win the cup!!
LETS GO CAPS!!
I know I'm not the only one who knows without a shadow of a doubt Ovi been on tons of Russian sauce throughout his career. Gretzky is on top of the greatest ever mountain and juicy ovi isn't even on top of the foothills lol. BTW the great gretzky was built like a girl, had his back broken half way through his career, and was a pass first player lol. Great job ovi
Why do you think NHL ratings are down? What do you think can be done to bring them up?
Thx for calling out the goalie gaffs. Very strange. I can't remember ever seeing one of those, let alone 3 in a handful of games by 2 different goalies. It did make me wonder if there's something happening with tactics or training that is causing these issues.
