Long story short a knee injury can literally destroy your entire career since injuries to the knee never fully recover. The damage that is done is done and as you get older it only worsens and comes back to bite you in the ass. You can come back from a concussion but a major knee injury like a ligament or cartilage injury which requires surgery almost guarantees you will not come back as how it was before
