price is 5th overall 1st round
as of right now….Jakub Dobes is the guy. if you watch him play, he is poised like price was but more technical. stays in the crease and absorbs pucks….plus the 6'5 frame and athleticism. he's the guy as of now. fowler will have to outplay dobes which is looking like a tall task to handle.
Looks like Dobes is the next Carey Price now.
He actually has to be as good as Price because Dobes is looking like a top 10 Goalie. I like Fowler but this is not guaranteed that he will be better then Dobes.
Its hard to get a read on goalies in NCAA, if you look up Cayden Primeaus stats in NCAA they are similar to Fowler. Its low scoring gritty hockey, look at that top 10 of goalie sv % and how good theyre, and yet only two of them were even drafted into NHL. Nonetheless still a good prospect to have.
Happy to see everyone start considering Dobes. All that matter is what you do once in the nhl, every team as the next top goaltender until it’s time for the nhl. We never know we’ll see.
Fowler is more Patrik Roy than Carey Price. He's too hotheaded to really embody Price
