The Vancouver Canucks lost to the Montreal Canadiens in overtime tonight and fell to 4-5-5 in their last 14 games. Is their current play, and more specifically play style, a cause for concern?

Watching all the Canucks games this year, the primary problem is defence. It's literally just Hughes and some guys. Getting Hronek back will help, but they need at least 1 more top 4 D.
JT Miller is so cancer. His attitude is so bad he didn’t even celebrate once.
Naaah
They would be fine bcoz they have also got a nice prospect pipeline
As for this season, i think their ceiling is finishing 4th in Pacific. But the way Ducks are playing, theg better not slip up too much
the amount of injuries this team has endured this year has been absolutely brutal. i think the conversation has to start there.
hughes is playing injured and hronek is out. petterson is out, joshua is out, demko is out. it isnt suprising they are struggling with those injuries.
then the d core. holy fuck the d core. we so desperately need a top 4 dman. and probable another 5/6 guy. dehairnies, forbot and juulsen are hockey terrorists.
what they need to do is trade for a dman, offering up one of ours we dont like, a 1st and maybe a couple other picks and maybe someone like hoglander or hienen or something. if they can do that while FINALLY getting somewhat healthy i think they will be back.
Love these little vids man!
Loving the content , keep it coming
They’ve been panicking for weeks now
Last season the Canucks massively overachieved and this season is a more accurate representation. Fighting for a wildcard spot is exactly where they were expected to be last season, and this season shouldn't be any different. There's no reason to panic, but the team definitely has issues that need to be addressed.
If they can add a top 4 dman and get everyone back healthy, they'll be alright. Plagued all year with injuries. Petterson Miller Boeser Hughes Demko Hronek Joshua have all missed several games at one point. Hronek will be a huge add when he comes back cause that D needs help. Definitely need to add a piece there but not sell the farm at this point.
Another exciting game by the Habs. Jesse Blake honourary Habs fan
They lost to one of the hottest teams in the NHL in a close game with core pieces injured, it's not that bad
Jesse when do you sleep?? The JBSR has been absolutely pumping out content (applause)
Depth with this Canucks' team is questionable, with an appalling lack of defensive awareness pervasive throughout the roster having hurt the Canucks once more. Discraft team will be lucky, if it does seem off action this season, to win more than one game, the same number as last postseason the Jets won when having allowed at least five goals (which those Jets had done in each of those games).
The Canucks just aren't as good as people thought. The combination of the results of the PDO bender being over and losing guys like Lindholm, Zadorov, and Mikheyev. Basically just left them as a team with 2nd tier stars, mediocre depth, a struggling star goalie. The play of Quinn Hughes is saving this team from being in on Hagens.
I was there! Great atmosphere and let’s go Montreal! GHG
Great analysis Jesse. I have not paid attention to win percentages when leading stat before.
A question – how difficult is it to change your system mid season? Teams don't generally have long layoffs to discuss and practice. Or are pros able to switch easily?
Great analysis Jesse. When the Habs exchanged Baron for Alex Carrier, who stabilized the right side, the team started to believe!
Hear me out: Leafs win the East, the Habs sneak into the WC2 slot… BOOM 🔥collision course 😎 watch it come true….
We’re in a playoff spot……………..
