Kadri isn’t worth much with that huge contract at his age, he’s also too proud to LTIRetire, so Kadri will play the entirety of it, for better or worse, and there is no Coyotes in the NHL anymore, that’s another usual option gone.
Trading him, will make the Monahan trade look good.
My bet would be something like Kadri, Andersson, NJs first, and A prospect like Honzek. Kadri gives them a good center back and makes the cap pretty equal. Have to give up a top end player ourselves which would be Andersson, and Vancouver could use another top defensemen. Pick and prospect speak for itself.
I’m all reality, the only untouchables in this trade would be Parekh and Wolf. Sorry Flames fans, but Zary and Coronato aren’t untouchable. Yes it would suck to lose Zary, but he most likely will top out as a 60-70 point player. A solid 2nd line center. This team sorely lacks an elite first liner (especially a center). Yes, Petterson hasn’t been playing his best hockey, but he did have a 100 point season, has been at or above a point per game pace each of the last three seasons (close this season), and is also a goal scorer. You simply do not get players like that for free. You have to give something up to get him, especially when it’s a division rival dealing him.

The guy has skill, no heart. Just keep what we have. Why should the Flame pay to improve another team. We already did that big time for the Habs.
