  1. 7:00 woah I disagree. Guhle and Carriee since being paired together have without a doubt been a lockdown pairing. Yeah the other 2 aren't really lockdown. But they all have a role or do something well

    Pairing 1: Offense
    Pairing 2: Defense
    Pairing 3: Physicality

He's created this to have options. If the Habs are struggling to play good defense they might use the 2nd line more. If they are struggling with offense then they might use the 1st line. If it's a blowout or an intense game then they might use the 3rd pairing. They all have their flaws. But overall it's a very flexible group. And this isnt even including probably the best defensive defenseman on the Habs in Savard as he's sick right now. That being said. I still believe we have a year until the playoffs. The Rangers should 100% bounce back ahead of us at the end of the year

  2. Well, they did make a trade for a D-man with Carrier which definitely helped stabilize the Blue line. He's been such a great addition with Ghule, transforming that pairing into a great shutdown duo with some offensive potential. It's been a large part of their recent success even though they were already on the upswing by then.

  3. ………………WOW !!!! ………..the "knowledgeable" Hab fans seem to be taking their car flags outta their trunks ……..the ones that always go back in behind the bag of road salt during the traditional post All Star Game slide…………….

  4. We're probably gonna hover around playoff contention until the deadline where we trade Dvorak, Savard and maybe Evans, then we will probably dip back down to 20th in the league by the end of the season for a top 12 draft pick. Playoffs might be obtainable next year

  5. Nah stay the course, we can move a couple expiring contracts at the deadline if you can but other than that stay the course with guys like Demidov Hage Mailloux Reinbacher Beck Fowler etc coming up in the next year or 2 just continue to focus on development and group cohesion the wins will come
That said if we do look like we are going to make the playoffs at the deadline maybe pick up another veteran Centre

  6. They have already adressed the issue on the d-squad with the Baron-Carrier trade .
The main issue was on the right side and with Carrier now playing right side with the habs things are a lot more stable behind the blue line . Reinbacher as well next year …
You also have to factor in how Xhekaj is becoming way more reliable as a third pair d-man .
Up front , guys like Caufield and Suzuki keep getting better but Slafkovsky isn’t showing much progression if any . Very low hockey IQ player and complete liability in his own end .
Second line got better with Laine coming back and Dach has been improving over the past ten games but these guys need a better line mate than Newhook .
Newhook should be playing no higher than a 3rd line which will probably happen when they get rid of Dvorak .
3rd line isn’t much more than a forechecking line .
4rth line has been clutch for them so far with Heineman emerging as a solid young power forward style player . Evans is having a career best season , great on faceoffs and amazing on the pk . Armia is also doing great on that line .

Goaltending just got a lot better with Dobes looking a seasoned veteran after 2 starts against top tier teams . Should take some pressure off of Montambault’s shoulders who had been already been doing pretty well considering the major d-zone issues they where having before getting Carrier .

They have 7 picks in the first three rounds for the upcoming draft so plenty bargaining chips to either move up in that draft or make a hostile offer for a ufa.
I would’nt compromise the habs future to make the playoffs this year . Next year should be a huge milestone for them especially with Demidov coming .
Exciting and interesting time to be a habs fan .

  8. Habs have one of best 4th lines the league. Evans-Armia- Heinemann. Doesn’t need improving. Do your research

  9. Winning is more motivating than development and wins make for a great teacher. Now that we know we can win against any team, we should priorise winning, that is to where the bar has been risen! GHG

  10. The Habs will lose the next 3 games in a row. After that things will return back to normal they will want the coach fired and stupid trades made

  11. I'm a huge Habs fan and frankly this last run has surprised me. I think the addition of Laine, Carrier and Dobes really triggered something special. However, I'm worried about our depth. Just losing Laine and Savard has been tough (Pezzetta and Struble are below average at best) and it makes me think that unless the team stays SUPER healthy there's little chance to make the playoffs this year.

  12. HEY Jimmy Hockey , just subscribed , Marty Saint -Louis is a relatively New Coach , his number is retired in Tampa , thats how good he was, his communication style is exactly what the doctor ordered for such a young team so, I'm wondering if you could do a documentary on the best to the worse Coaches in the NHL. Note on Slafkovsky who was benched in the third vs. the Avalanche, so I think Juraj should get a on one With Marty Saint Louis to boost his confidence and simplified instruction on what Montreal needs from him to do more, he checks most often with his hands, he should be crushing guys with his size and strength ( maybe a hitting coach ? ). GREAT Content you have . GO HABS GO

  13. Subscribe to this guy already! Insane how 91% of ya’ll aren’t subscribed but watching. (I am just a normal dude. Not being paid 😂.)

  14. Dobes replacing Primeau was a fantastic decision. Carrier has definitely strengthened the back end. Once Reinbacher gets back in the lineup i think it will further improve. Heineman, Evans and Laine are playing well above expectations, trailing close behind are Armia, Slav, and Gallagher. Caufield and Suzuki and matheson are the pillars of the team. Monty has been on point and now with a real backup he can relax a bit. Newhook and devorak are lacking… Dach is slowly on the come up. I think they could make a playoff run, but making it deep is unlikely. Once Demidov makes the lineup next year and maybe make a couple more trade/acquisition moves and they will go to the finals.

  15. I love that you call our coaching staff "strong".

There has been so much hate around MSL(Martin St-Louis), but I believe the coaching staff is doing amazing. Players want to play for the Habs, fans love the commitment and mostly, we are seeing success with very little star power.

I believe MSL will get the Jack Adams trophy soon, hopefully he will be considered this year.

  16. This year it's 50/50 but next year we have Demidov, Reinbacker, Beck, Engstrom, Roy to name just a few, with a massive amounts of 1st/2nd/3rd round draft picks in our pocket, 8,000,000$ of available cap space.

That's not even counting the big pieces that we already know that will be coming the year after in the star goaltender Jacob Fowler and very promising 2C Michael Hages. Moreover we have amassed a good pocket full of high quality NHL caliber players in our top of the line AHL Rocket team which are very valuable in trades, like Logan Mailloux for example.

In addition to the fact that we signed our 1st overall pick 20 years old massive, talented and robust winger Juraj Slafkovski for a very team friendly 8 year contract that only begins next year and we are the 2nd youngest team in the entire NHL. Somehow even though the rebuild is just beginning we are beating the Stanley Cup Champs, playing physical and we are currently 1 point of a wildcard spot at 0.500

Not only that but we also have a coach and drafting team with a very sound long-term vision that they are not deviating from and their process is finally coming to fruition this early in the rebuild. They have created a team with a positive winning mentality that is fun to play in, fun to watch and exciting to follow.

In light of all these facts it's easy to see why the Montreal Canadians are statistically firmly on the upswing and are improving very rapidly as all the pieces of the plan and the process are coming to fruition. It is also very difficult to imagine a scenario in which a few injuries or a little bit of adversity could ever derail this absolute Locomotive that is the Montreal Canadians, especially looking forward.

Literally just having Demidov by himself will make this team very exciting to watch, imagine when the other 22 players inevitably keep progressing rapidly as they all have.

    🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

  17. You say they dont have a #1 goalie. Their goalie made team Canada and could even start. That statement was absurd. They also have a hot back up goalie now. They look better than you say. My opinion. Cheers

  18. Gally ,and Army are playing very good this year. Anderson and Dach are playing with way more confidence and working hard. I think we have a significant amount of depth.

  19. I think Montembeault has been very solid. Don’t think we can ask better of any goalie. Very consistent and reliable

  20. You keep saying Montreal horribly wrong. I have no idea why Americans put so much emphasis on the "O".

  21. Respectfully youre very wrong on a few things lol
First one that stood out was about laine scoring from anywhere on the ice. Theyve all been feom his office in the left faceoff circle lol

  22. i love it….rebuilding for years…and outta thr playoffs for wuite some time…WRONG. outta the playoffs for 2 yeats…prior, Eastern conferrence runner ups…..not bad for a "rebuild team" which once demigod, hage and hutson take the realm…is potentially the next dynasty since the hawks of the early mid 2010's

  23. Demigod is progressing nicely over in Russia, will most certainly attain full God status very soon 8) the Habs will be a force to reckon with within 1-2 years… not expecting miracles this year tho… fun to watch … Hudson is mesmerizing when viewed from tv I can't imagine how players deal with his presence on the ice… they probably tighten their sticks a little and give him more room, the last player in Montreal to instill that kind of fear was Kovalev…..
