I totally disagree with Johns assessment that EP40 has to learn to play the “right” way. He already KNOWS HOW ! And he showed it for several seasons here getting better and better offensively while displaying unreal defensive skill stripping pucks away and transforming what was had just been a rush by the opponent into a rush by the Canucks. And his shot and his passing and his scoring and defensive positioning…. HE HAS LOST ALL OF THIS SKILL. After the stupid all star game he was a different guy…totally different over night ! And he’s shown just a glimmer of all that skill since then. No sorry folks even if he recovers from this funk he will fall into this funk again. He must go.

The team over-performed last season. This season is probably what management thought might happen last season if everything didn't go well.
Ep is like the toronto maple leafs…looks like a world beater in the games that have zero intensity…but when you play for real hes like a 12 year old out there. Will never win a cup with him as the centrepiece
The big problem with the trading of EP, is he not playing to his 11.6m contract which goes for another six full seasons. Who would ever trade for him?
At 26, EP40 is a kid. There's a lot of runway left on him. Besides, Rutherford won't trade a big peice when the value is low.
We need two second pairing D men. We've needed them from the beginning of the year.
Now our top pair is out. We have 3 third pairing sets of Dmen.
We aren't going anywhere without defensive help.

EP40 is beyond fixing. It has been almost a year since he started playing subpar hockey. Don’t think he is going to wake up anytime soon.
Peterson is not a superstar. He will not lead you to the Cup. No swede ever will. It was a terrible draft pick , contract renewal, etc..
The real issue in not any of the fwds though … it’s the defense. The D outside Hughes have been horrific.

To be talking about playoff positions in Dec./Early Jan is crazy. Too much season left. Edmonton was 6th in the Pacific division this time last year.
Pettersson isn’t going to play the way they want while Miller is creating tension in the room. Acquiescing to bullying only encourages the bullying to continue.

If ep40 was on the oilers he would quit after McDavid yells at him to dig the fuk in right now. Petey just can't handle a player better than him telling him what to do or how to play because he thinks he's the best on the team. he needs to be on a team like Columbus or flyers where he could be the number 1 guy and has no other star players to steal his thunder.
