OK Guys, it’s time to take a look at the game last night between the Montreal Canadiens and the Colorado Avalanche! The Habs won this game by a score of 2-1 , securing the victory with a shootout, however… none of this would have been possible without stellar goaltending from rookie Jacob Dobes!! Lets break this one down!

Nice soccer goal by mckinnon btw. If suzuki had made that the goal would had been refused, fuk bettman, hope he get replaced soon
When is the turd period?
Dobes squares himself to the shot effertlessly…. and he dont let much space in between them pads. Great glove hand too.
Are you from newfoundland?
Roughing up an opponent who runs your goalie is one way to send a message, but having a killer power play is more convincing!
Dobes stop averything, even player now
Well b'y. I tink dawbish got quite the glove and quick legs. He bit a few times on the shootout and still tracked the puck perfectly.
How about that Dobby the House Elf?
I liked Dobie in the pre-season. The Rocket are higher in the standings compared to last season, so I assume it's partially because of him. But of course, 2 games a season does not make. So let's not be too hasty and see how things workout in the medium/long run. leave that inflatable Stanly Cup in the closet for at least a bit longer 😉
How far would they be above the line right now if this was the combo they started with. My guess would be 5 – 6 points above right now. There is a glimmer of hope after all.
2:50 it's f@(k!ng gold 😂
No excuse for not protecting the goalie. ITS Fing Emberrrrrrrrrrising. KICKS TRASHCAN WITH FUT
I get the whole "you can't let them run into him without payback" but imagine if someone did kick their ass and got a penalty, maybe we lose this game. I don't know man.. If the refs don't give penalties for the interference sure, but that was handled let's not lose a pp over some fieud
With Fowler coming and Montembeault doing good, they'll have an happy problem at some point. It's way too early, but I personally feel like Dobes is number 1 goalie material. His whole body language screams n1 goalie in the NHL. Montembeault is in his prime at 28 years old. We'll see how things evolve and how Fowler development goes. I think they have a few years before they'll need to make a final choice, so it should be fine for now, but Dobes will clearly push Montembeault to be on his A game all the time, which is a really good thing.
He's looked great so far. I love what I'm seeing from the team recently.
It was all about the goalies last night. It took almost 3 whole periods to solve Blackwood but the Habs are finally playing some great professional hockey lately. All the best in the future for Jakub Dobes; what a blast of a start for his career!
Go habs go the refs suck
Problem with the habs is always the penalties. When there's a clear penalty against one of our guys, they don't call it, but when it's our players like Xhekaj or whatever, they call it right away, even 2 penalties at the same time like against Chicago lol.
teams will figure out his flaws as he plays more. this happens pretty often, im sure everyone remembers being goalied by a "nobody" backup once or twice. Toronto looked like an AHL team when the zamboni driver came in. but that doesn't mean David Ayers is a great goaltender.
yipppppyyyyy
Hockey Junkie is buzzing!!!
This is the second video I've watched about last night's game against the Avalanche that said there were two goaltender interference calls in the game. In fact, there was only one, on Lekhonen. The first one was more iffy and wasn't called. But yes, the Habs have to make sure the next guy who runs into Dobes gets his hat handed to him.
Tanks HJ.
Leave it up to habs to get dunked by Chicago and then take Colorady in a shootout _without Laine_. This team is funny as fuck ngl 😀
I liked that you showed a scene when Price got injured by NYR player. Its important that your are making a critical point of protecting the great goalkeepers. A lot of analyst talk about Dobes being great, which is good, but few talk about the importance of protecting him. Habs players need to make it clear to the oposite team that going like that into Habs goalkeepers is super costly.
Bro your editing skills are great!!!!
I love that jersey #75 too—a nice tough and rugged number for a Goaler… I would love to see a goaltender wear a single digit number (other then #1) someday though! 👀
